Community Highlights: Meet Vicky Keisler of Na’ava Skin Care Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Keisler

Hi Vicky, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your life story and how you got to where you are today?

Thank you so much! I’m really excited to be here and share my journey. My story begins in post-war Vietnam, where I was raised by my grandmother after losing my parents at an early age. Her love and wisdom were essential in shaping who I am today. I always held onto my faith as a Buddhist and my belief in Karma, which has deeply influenced both my life and my career.
When I moved to America, I was incredibly grateful for the opportunities this country offered—ones I didn’t necessarily have in Vietnam. Inspired by my grandmother’s work ethic in Vietnam, I worked hard to build Na’ava Skin Care Spa. “Na’ava” means “beautiful” in the Bible, and I wanted to combine those values with my Buddhist beliefs, creating a fusion of East and West that reflects the heart of my company. Our product line, Paniym Skin Care, means “face” in the Bible, aligning with the vision of creating beauty from within.
I’ve been in the skincare industry for over 20 years, and I’m passionate about helping others with skin concerns, especially cystic acne and hyperpigmentation. My journey, although challenging, has been deeply rewarding, and I owe so much of it to the guiding light of my grandmother’s influence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest business challenges you’ve faced along the way?

In the beginning, there were definitely significant challenges, particularly as an Asian American female business owner in the beauty industry. Navigating a field where there are often preconceived notions about who can succeed and what beauty standards should look like added an extra layer of difficulty. Additionally, as a woman of color, there were times when I felt I had to work even harder to be taken seriously, to prove the value of my approach of combining Asian and Western skincare treatments, and to establish trust with clients in a competitive market dominated by larger, more established medical spas. Overcoming these barriers wasn’t easy, but it pushed me to stay focused on my vision and work even harder to achieve my goals.

Starting out, I worked from just one room, with limited resources, and it was tough to spread awareness for my business. In an industry that often emphasizes fillers and Botox, it wasn’t easy to introduce my approach, which focuses on organic ingredients and noninvasive treatments. Competing with larger medical spas felt overwhelming at times.
But through persistence and the support of my amazing clients, Na’ava Skin Care Spa has grown. In the past two years, we’ve expanded and currently operate in an office with five spa rooms, which has been such a blessing. I’m incredibly grateful to our repeat customers, many of whom not only drive from all over Southern California but also fly in from across the country—places like New York City, Florida, and San Francisco—and even internationally from Vietnam, China, and Singapore. Their loyalty and trust have been key to our growth.

As you know, we’re big fans of Na’ava Skin Care Spa. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Na’ava Skin Care Spa is a full-service, all-inclusive spa specializing in a wide range of skincare treatments, from acne facials and chemical peels to microneedling and body therapies for both men and women. What sets us apart is our commitment to offering affordable alternatives to invasive procedures. We focus on minimizing the appearance of wrinkles, sun spots, and acne scars without the need for harsh treatments. Our approach has earned us the trust of renowned, board-certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons in Orange County, who often refer their patients to us for personalized, noninvasive care.
In addition to our treatments, my specially formulated product line, Paniym Skin Care, works seamlessly to enhance our clients’ results. Beloved for its gentle yet highly effective formulations, Paniym is designed to address a variety of skin concerns, from cystic acne to hyperpigmentation, with long-lasting effects. Many of our clients continue using Paniym well after their treatments, which is a testament to the trust and confidence we’ve built. I’m also fortunate to have an exceptional team of bright, creative staff members whose blend of technical expertise and outstanding customer service allows me to focus on the bigger picture—nurturing client relationships and growing Na’ava. I believe that the synergy between our team, our products, and our clients has been the key to our success, helping us establish Na’ava as one of the leading skincare solutions in South Orange County and beyond.

I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering love and support of my husband Thomas Keisler, who has watched me grow throughout this journey. Without his encouragement, Na’ava Skin Care Spa would never have become a reality. From the very beginning, he has stood by my side, helping me turn a dream into a thriving business. His faith in my vision has empowered me to overcome challenges and build something truly special. Thank you, my love, for always lifting me up and believing in me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without you.
