Today we’d like to introduce you to Celeste Aguiar
Hi Celeste, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been a licensed esthetician for six years, but my love for skincare started long before that. It began with the rise of makeup tutorials on YouTube; I became fascinated not just with makeup, but with the health of my skin. Paying so much attention to skincare, it only made sense for me to turn that passion into a career. Coming from a small town in San Bernardino County, esthetics wasn’t very popular. But after doing some research, I realized what it would take to get an esthetician license, and my career path became clear.
I enrolled in an esthetician program in Anaheim and moved to Orange County when I was 20. During my training, we learned about the different scopes of practice we could use our license for, and full body waxing really stood out to me. I quickly realized waxing wasn’t just about removing hair, it was about giving clients a new sense of confidence. That connection drove me to pursue waxing as my focus.
Once I earned my license, becoming a wax specialist felt like a natural choice. I worked nonstop for the first year to master my skills, and as I improved, the clients followed. Over time, I found myself challenging the textbook methods I was trained on and developed my own technique. While I trained other waxers under a nationally recognized brand, I always shared my approach, even if it wasn’t the “official” method.
Eventually, I grew frustrated with the limitations of working for someone else and felt the urge to run my own business my way. One day, out of sheer frustration, I toured a Sola Salon Suite in Beverly Hills. It was supposed to be just for research, but a few hours later, I submitted an application for the space with just enough money to cover the deposit.
With no clients and very little money, I suddenly owned a studio in one of the most iconic cities for beauty. That’s when the real hustle began. Attracting new clients was (and still is) one of the hardest parts of running a business. But over time, I learned what worked for the demographic I wanted to reach, and I poured myself into building my brand.
In September 2024, Se Sóucier Beverly Hills celebrated its second anniversary, and I’m still amazed at how much it’s grown. My values have stayed consistent: customer service is always my top priority, and skin health is a close second. Whether a client is new or returning, I make sure they leave completely satisfied with both.
I love my job, and I love my business. Running Se Sóucier Beverly Hills has been the most stressful thing I’ve ever done, but I’m grateful every single day for the experience and for every client who trusts me with their skin. Se Sóucier Beverly Hills is still open seven days a week, and as long as I can maintain those two core values, it always will be.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening any business is a challenge, especially in such a competitive and dynamic industry. With so many moving parts, it’s easy to make mistakes along the way. As an entrepreneur, you’re constantly juggling decisions- how to price your services, how to welcome guests, and the level of professionalism you want to maintain. The smallest details can be the most overwhelming.
Beyond that, the logistics have been equally tough. Everything is costly, and without a strong support system, Se Sóucier Beverly Hills wouldn’t have been possible. Acquiring new clients, managing a business Instagram, budgeting, ensuring a steady supply chain- these are all constant challenges. And taxes? They’re definitely the hardest part.
There are countless obstacles, but each one has been an opportunity for growth. Every challenge has shaped me as a business owner and strengthened the foundation of my business.
So, has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not. But every bump has brought valuable lessons, and that’s what has made this journey worthwhile.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been a full body wax technician for six years and have been specializing in eyebrow services for the last two years. After opening my own business, I naturally gravitated toward eyebrow services, especially with the current craze surrounding brow care. It felt like the right direction for me to focus a lot of my time and energy.
With six years of waxing experience under my belt, I’ve built a solid reputation for my technique. I prioritize hair removal in small strips to minimize discomfort, and I place a huge emphasis on skin care both during the service and in aftercare routines. Waxing isn’t completely painless, but I don’t believe it should be overly painful either. By focusing on the way the hair grows and the condition of the skin, I’m able to provide a much more comfortable experience for my clients.
When it comes to eyebrow services, my approach has evolved over the years. I’ve added steps to perfect my method, and those refinements have become my blueprint for achieving flawless brows every time. I’m incredibly fortunate to have clients who trust me to give them their best brows consistently.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is the relationships I’ve built with my clients. Seeing their facial expressions when I show them the results is hands down my favorite part of the job. While I’ll always love full body waxing, eyebrows have become my true passion.
What sets me apart from other businesses is the genuine passion and dedication I bring to every aspect of my work. I strive to create an experience where every client can feel the care and attention that has gone into building Se Sóucier Beverly Hills. It’s not just about the services I offer; it’s about fostering a relationship with each client and ensuring they leave feeling valued and confident.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that not every client is for you, and that’s okay. Accepting that you can’t be everyone’s cup of tea takes experience. In the beginning, I wanted to accommodate everyone, but over time I realized that trying to please everyone dilutes the unique vision and experience I want to offer.
Now, I focus on working with clients who align with what Se Sóucier Beverly Hills stands for—those who value attention to detail, personalized service, and a curated, luxury experience. It’s been freeing to understand that not every person or project is the right fit, and that’s what allows us to truly thrive.
