Meet Staci Stewart and Chris Chavez of Word Of Mouth Truck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Stewart and Chris Chavez.

Staci and Chris, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Chris and I started Word Of Mouth last year after going to different events in Los Angeles and noticing there wasn’t much we could eat! We knew there had to be other hungry vegans, who like us deconstruct food items on a menu to make it work. Although the thought of cross contamination and the lack luster taste of a plain tofu anything will make you wish you had eaten before you went to that concert/street fair/etc. Thus, WOMT, vegan comfort food was born. Chris comes from a culinary background, and has been a sous chef for many years. Both of us are vegan. Though, I’m the veteran vegan in our relationship. Nine years and counting!

We love to cook using whole foods in place of meat substitutes. We hope to inspire more people to eat healthier and to go vegan by offering delicious comfort food classics like our Mac and Cheese Bites, Jalapeño Poppers, Western Cheeseburger and my personal favorite the Fried Chick’n Sandwich. We travel around the city five days a week. To find out our daily locations go to wordofmouthtruck.com or follow us on social media @wordofmouthtruck.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like anyone, starting a new small business we have had our share of bumps. Parking on a daily basis can be a struggle! I feel like we learn something new everyday.

We have learned how to adapt in situations, grow from mistakes and most importantly to keep creating along the way. We feel really lucky to be doing something we both love and are so passionate about. We are grateful to the vegan community for the support they have shown us in this first year and look forward on what’s to come.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Word Of Mouth Truck – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a 100% vegan food truck in Los Angeles specializing in plant based comfort food, our most popular items are our Mac and Cheese Bites, and the Fried Chick’n sandwich. We hand make most of our menu. We are so proud to be able to serve our vegan street food daily throughout LA, when options may otherwise be slim.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love the diversity and energy of Los Angeles most. What do we like least about this city? TRAFFIC and parking!
