Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Fox
Hi Cynthia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was five years old, I almost drowned in the ocean. Chaos became calm and I saw a light coming through…
As the sun shined down upon me, I experienced the most beautiful feeling of love and warmth I’ve ever felt. I wanted to follow the light but instead heard a message. My divine mission was to share this feeling with others. My near-death experience began my own relationship with spirituality, energy, and the divine.
Growing up I was always curious and exploring how I would share the message of LOVE and LIGHT. At age 13 I discovered that I wanted to pursue psychology as a profession and a medium to share my message. Now more than ever we are having a pandemic of loneliness. Individuals and societies are disengaged and disenchanted with spirituality and their connection to source. We have no way to come back home to ourselves. Chasing someone else’s idea of success, only to feel empty inside.
My hope and mission are to relieve individuals of their conditioning. To inspire individuals to the truth that you don’t have to sacrifice yourself in order to be LOVED, ACCEPTED, OR PROTECTED. You are loved for who you are, not what you do.
I serve those that believe in the beauty and power of their DREAMS. They are optimistic about the potential transformation of our individual and collective future. By clearing the path of confusion, self-sabotage, and unconscious patterns, you can move forward with CLARITY and CONFIDENCE to fulfill your divine mission and gifts. Together we can build the world we want to live in and for future generations to enjoy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing worthwhile comes without challenges. Knowing what you want to do when your younger has advantages and comes with its own trials and tribulations. Growing up in a multicultural household with an Asian mother there were certain expectations as her only child. The general rule for the first generation is to become nurses like our parents and have a stable life. My mother always tried to discourage me from my grand desires and aspirations. She had no idea where I came from with these big visions and ideas for my life and how I wanted to live it. My fearlessness and confidence frightened her as she encouraged me to think small and want less for myself. I didn’t care, I knew what I wanted to do. Not having my parents or family support to pursue my chosen professional career was one of the major challenges, . Feeling like I can’t be honest with them when its hard and can only report good news.
Some personal challenges along the way stem from my neurodivergent tendencies. My biggest challenges are being highly distractible, time management, and biting off more than I can chew. Luckily, I work on productivity and balance with my clients sharing the tools, tips, & tricks that helped me along the way.
We’ve been impressed with Fox Therapy Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fox Therapy Inc is a Holistic Psychotherapy Center in WLA. We offer individual sessions, group therapy and events. Our goal is to become the go-to destination in WestLA for in-person holistic psychotherapy, healing, and spiritual community. It truly has been a dream come true.
Holistic psychotherapy takes a comprehensive view of an individual and anything affecting the individual’s quality of life. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we offer various esoteric, transpersonal, and east west modalities to enhance our client’s experience. Additional knowledge and skills include dream analysis, spiritual counseling, tarot, hypnosis, past lives, somatic work, energy bodywork, feng shui and chakras. Professional services include intuitive career coaching, business wellness consultations, and executive functioning coaching to help with ADD/ADHD.
We specialize in spiritual psychotherapy, holistic wellness and an integral model of health and healing. Majority of therapists and mental health provides are trained in traditional CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and the medical model perspective. Clients often don’t feel connected or heard by previous therapists. At Fox Therapy Inc, we prioritize in being a client – centered practice. Our clients come first and we collaborate to hear what they want out of life and work with them to see what’s getting in the way of dream life. Getting rid of anxiety, depression, and racing thoughts is the first step to a fulfilling life. Next is to feel confident in going after your desires and knowing what those are.
I’m most proud of seeing my clients go for their dream life. Saying no to the people, places, and situations that bring them down. Watching them do things they never thought possible, like going back to school to be a therapist so they can share the gift of psychotherapy and personal healing with others similar to them. It warms my heart when I get messages from clients thanking me for our work together. They never thought in their wildest dreams that a healthy, sexy, magical life is waiting for them.
