Life & Work with Vicki Asmarian of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicki Asmarian

Hi Vicki, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My mother had a deep passion for flowers and floral design, so her father gifted her a flower shop, one of the first in Hollywood at the time. I spent my early days in that shop, with my bassinet right behind the cash register. As I grew, I helped my mother with designing homes, centerpieces for events, and weddings. My love for event planning and customer satisfaction grew alongside my work with florals.

Being an LA native, I know the city’s hustle and the traffic all too well, but I’m also grateful for the scenic escapes we have—mountains, forests, parks, and beaches. To blend my passions for nature, design, and creating memorable experiences, I started Sunlit Events, specializing in luxurious picnic setups. It’s my way of bringing beauty and relaxation into people’s lives, right in the heart of our vibrant city.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To ensure I had the best quality products, I had to invest more than I could afford at the time. I took on many side projects creating balloon art and spent a lot of time researching products. The start was slow, with few people aware of the concept and no profit from the initial picnic orders, but after several months, everything began to come together. Now, many people book their picnics for various occasions, such as photo shoots, proposals, bachelorette parties, birthdays, romantic outings, baby showers, brunches, and more.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality products and services. I handle every aspect of an event from start to finish, including flowers, balloon art, table settings, vendor coordination, and more. I also offer picnics and carts, which I take great pride in providing.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me means my clients are so satisfied with my work that they refer me to their friends and family and keep coming back as repeat customers. I take pride in the quality of my work and prioritize customer satisfaction. Each setup is customized to meet my clients’ specific needs. Seeing the joy and satisfaction of those enjoying what I have created is the most rewarding part of what I do.
