Today we’d like to introduce you to Yinchi (cornelia) Dai
Hi Yinchi (Cornelia), please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out as a business student with this big ambition to make an impact. I worked in some “business for good” roles, but I soon realized that real change happens when you can shape how people think.
Moving to New York to study social innovation was a game-changer. I fell in love with the city’s indie restaurants and quirky stores, each with their own stories. I got obsessed with the city’s vibe, the food, the solo adventures. That’s when I started my social media journey. I wanted to share these amazing experiences and connect people to the best spots in the city.
My platform quickly grew – I hit 270k followers! It was wild. I realized I had a powerful voice and could promote things I really cared about, like sustainability, self-love, and self-care. I even got the chance to collaborate with non-profits like Karmagawa and brands like Nike and New Balance. Social media and the community I built around it showed me how much we can influence each other and create positive change.
That realization led me to Los Angeles, where I now work for a tech company that makes video editing easy for everyone and produces templates that help users catch up with the trends to increase views. I love helping people become content creators and use their voices for good. The idea of empowering small businesses and independent creators to shine really energizes me.
What’s helped me get to where I am today is my passion for sharing what I believe is worth sharing and understanding what users love to consume. Plus, the inspiring words from my supporters keep me going. I truly love the community I’ve built and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone I’ve met along this wonderful journey.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’ve enjoyed the journey. There were times when balancing content creation with a full-time job was incredibly challenging. Juggling both responsibilities often left me feeling stretched thin. There were moments when burnout hit hard, but I knew I had to keep things going.
One of the toughest parts was staying creative and motivated when I was exhausted. Finding time to create meaningful content while managing my job required a lot of late nights and early mornings. I also faced the pressure of maintaining a consistent presence on social media, which can be overwhelming.
Despite these struggles, I learned a lot about time management and self-care. I realized the importance of taking breaks and prioritizing my mental health. The support and encouragement from my community played a huge role in helping me push through tough times. Looking back, those challenges made me stronger and more resilient, and they taught me to appreciate the highs and lows of this journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a content specialist at a tech company where I focus on staying ahead of the curve with the latest visual and audio trends on social media. My role involves developing content strategies and creating templates that help users elevate their content and stay current with trending styles.
What sets me apart is my strong empathy and keen sense of AI and content trends, which enables me to identify opportunities to create relatable and viral templates. I’m particularly proud of my ability to connect with users and understand what resonates with them, allowing me to craft content that not only catches their attention but also adds value to their social media presence.
I specialize in making content creation accessible and effective for everyone, from small businesses to independent creators. My goal is to empower them with tools that make video editing easy and enjoyable. Seeing the positive impact my work has on these creators and businesses is incredibly fulfilling.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built around my work. The support and feedback from users have been invaluable, and their success stories motivate me to keep pushing boundaries. I believe my unique blend of technical skills, trend awareness, and genuine connection with my audience sets me apart in the industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I believe there are joys in every single moment. I’m incredibly grateful to have supportive friends and brands that offer me opportunities to experience new things and tell their stories. It makes me super happy when my followers reach out to say they’re inspired by my lifestyle or that my content brings them joy. I’m also happy when my content brings value to local businesses. Knowing that I can make a positive impact on someone’s day or help a local business thrive is truly fulfilling and keeps me motivated to keep creating and sharing.
