Meet Protective Styling Expert Josephine Mwaniki

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josephine Mwaniki.

Josephine, founder of Nice&Neat Braids, started braiding when she was just 14 years old. She would copy braiding styles from Erykah Badu in Love of my Life (Ode to hip hop) and Brandy when she was starring on Moesha.  Her love for black hair grew over time and she’s been amazed to see people from all ethnicities interested in braiding styles at an increasing rate over time. She tells us “We are living in a day and age where people can feel comfortable living in their own skin. We can embrace one anothers cultures. I feel blessed to help my fellow sisters feel beautiful and confident in the way the Creator made them.” We agree and our proud to focus on braidologists given that the mainstream media has largely ignored this beautiful and popular practice.
