Today we’d like to introduce you to Lazarus Lynch
Hi Lazarus , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in Jamaica, Queens. My parents were both busy raising a family and working. My mother was a secretary and my father installed carpet. From the time I was a kid, art was always my tool for connecting with the larger world and making sense of my place in it. I always knew as a child that my voice as an artist mattered and that I would share it with the world. As I grew up, I began to use social media as a way for sharing my artistry with the world. But having a good foundation of family, spirituality, and an intrinsic belief in myself all have nurtured me becoming who I am today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my struggles was letting go of older dreams as new ones were born. I think it’s important to keep your heart and mind open to new opportunities, even if they are the farthest thing from what you thought you wanted.

I am most proud that my vision for creative works have led me to a space in my life and career where I am excited to share new works. I am very proud of my first cookbook, Son of a Southern Chef. I am proud of my first album, ‘Sanctuary’ and for all of the places my music reaches. I am also proud of my original films on YouTube and Facebook where I act in and play multiple characters. Now, I have so many cool things to look forward to as an artist.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Being a real person has always worked for me. I think people respond well to that. I also was very intentional about who I asked to mentor me. Not every good professional would be a good mentor, so I encourage you to take that relationship slow, be direct about your expectations, and keep it professional.
