Hi Gregg and Gina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2016, we bought a Big Green Egg and needed an enclosure to complete our own outdoor kitchen. While researching, we found the WWOO website headquartered in Holland and learned the Dutch brand was looking for licensees in the U.S.
As luck would have it, our daughter Mary was heading overseas to begin a study abroad program, which gave us the perfect opportunity to visit the WWOO headquarters and check out their manufacturing process. After their visit, there was no question that we had to bring WWOO stateside and incorporate the concrete outdoor kitchens into their thriving landscaping business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Educating the consumer that there is another type of outdoor kitchen than what is traditionally offered in the US. Traditional outdoor kitchens in the US are the same concept as an indoor kitchen brought outside, which can be problematic. This has been somewhat of a challenge with the consumer.
Concrete outdoor kitchens can be a better option than traditional ones due to their longevity and resistance to weathering, ensuring they withstand the test of time and remain functional in various climates. They also offer versatility in design, accommodating various cooking appliances and configurations, making them suitable for modern culinary needs. Additionally, concrete’s low maintenance requirements and easy cleaning contribute to their appeal for those seeking hassle-free outdoor cooking spaces.
We have had to educate the consumer on the benefits of our kitchens.
