Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniella Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Davis

Hi Daniella, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Chef Daniella Davis

got her start at the age of 5 years old when she and her father started a home video series called the Daddy/Daughter Cooking Show, but it wasn’t until her sophomore year of college where she decided to start her career in the culinary field.

Chef Daniella began working in restaurants in both Long Island and Manhattan, but she knew that her skills had moved past following a regimented menu style. This lead her to start her own personal chef and catering company called Dine in with Daniella.

Coming from a diverse cultural background and a family with strong culinary ties, it was only natural that Chef Daniella followed in those culinary footsteps. Over the past few years, she has mastered several genres of cuisine to include, Latin, Asian and her special calling…Caribbean Fusion! Chef Daniella has fashioned culinary fare for celebrities like VH1’s Love and Hip Hop star, Kaylin Garcia and host of upscale clients from LA to NYC!

Chef Daniella’s ability to layer flavors with culinary prowess keeps her clients coming back for more! Meal prepping for families is a passion for her and she loves to showcase her personal chef services in intimate settings. She is also able to handle the task of larger crowds, with the help of her all-female catering staff.

All of her hard work did not go unnoticed when she participated in Food & Wine’s Best Chef 2015 program. If that wasn’t enough, television came calling next, with her competing on the Food Network show, Guy’s Grocery Games, from then Tastemade and Buzzfeed have featured her as well.

Chef Daniella is an advocate for Sickle Cell Awareness, as she lives with the disease, but it NEVER stops her from accomplishing her goals. She is also a former chef instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC and volunteers to work with the youth in her community. She was also honored and received an award from The Flourishing Blossom Society for Girls. This is a program to prepare young girls to be phenomenal women by building self-confidence and encouraging self-expression.

The non-profit organization chose Chef Daniella as one of their prominent women in the community because of her consistent service. In a field where men dominate, Chef Daniella has the chops to hold her own and consistently delivers! She travels the country sharing her love of food with her clients and she is just scratching the surface of her building her culinary empire!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I live with sickle cell anemia and while frequent crisis do occur, I never allow that to affect my business or life. I still travel, love and live as much as my body allows.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a private chef and caterer. I own dine in with Daniella a catering company with locations in NY as well as LA. I specialize in south East Asian cuisine as well as Caribbean and cannabis infusion. I’m most know for my cannabis dinners and pop ups I hold in NY and LA. I’ve been featured as NYC’s best cannabis events by high times magazine and named superstar of the cannabis kitchen by Culture magazine. What sets me apart is that i have a line of infused and non infused products sold in Walmart.com and my website. I also have a line of shroom chocolate bars that are very popular too.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
To find a good mentor I would suggest to be yourself, know your strengths and weaknesses, find someone you admire who’s field of study most closely align with yours. To network, I strongly advise to just be honest with your intentions, as well as humility.
