Check Out Maria Posada’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Posada

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2019, I took a lash course using my very last not knowing this would become my career. I constantly worked long 8-12 hour shifts daily, being a single mom of a one-year-old toddler, I didn’t have much time to practice. Fast forward to March 2020, when COVID-19 occurred, businesses were shut down and I got laid off from my job at LAX Airport. Since then, I had more free time and used that time to practice lashing on my mannequin, improving and getting faster. I knew it would be a huge risk taking clients during this pandemic, but I did it anyway, and I’m so glad that I did! Because so many businesses were closed, I knew I had an advantage as a beginner tech to build my clientele. I completely fell in love with lashing & my business started to grow! I realized I loved the beauty industry so much that I wanted to offer more services.

In 2022, I attended Esthetician school and graduated. My business has thrived so much through all the trials and tribulations I experienced. I put so much of my blood, sweat, and tears into my business that I’m forever grateful!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I hit a couple of bumps along the road. Getting lash extensions is a luxury service, but with the inflation in Los Angeles, prices for everything have increased, making it hard for clients to have extra money to get serviced. It has its slow seasons. Every business has its ups and downs. I can make $0 one day and $1k the very next. You just have to keep going. It can be extremely overwhelming and stressful because I am the only person behind my business. I take clients, take care of inventory, ship out orders, film/edit, and post content. Going through 20+ vendors and spending hundreds of dollars trying to find the best quality lash products was a huge challenge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an esthetician, I offer numerous services. Such as eyelash extensions, nail services, body waxing, facials, brow lamination/tint. I am also a Lash instructor; I offer lash training courses as well as nail training courses. I am most proud of launching my very own Lash Supplies, which has been very successful.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always open to doing collaborations with others! Every mother’s day & thanksgiving I like to do a giveaway to give back, gifting a free service. I appreciate anyone who does support me, whether it’s booking an appointment with me, referring a friend, or simply just reposting any of my posts. All support never goes unnoticed.
