Hi Yesy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As the founder and president of Climatisation HVAC Inc., I lead our company in delivering custom, sustainable air conditioning, heating, and ventilation solutions for both commercial and residential projects. Moving on to my own personal story: I grew up in Burbank and used to work in insurance. This client-facing role taught me the importance of connecting with potential customers, colleagues, and people in general—always on a human level. I’ve never let the business side of things overshadow that.
My mom’s influence has been pivotal. She encouraged me to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering, which led to my specializing in stationary air conditioning and heating. Later, I earned my MBA from the University of Phoenix—and at every turn, my mom pushed me to develop my technical knowledge and key business skills. This combination has been crucial. A blend of leadership and engineering excellence, it’s also a cornerstone of what sets Climatisation HVAC Inc. apart.
With that, I also owe a lot to my mentor “Alfred”, who was like a second father to me and owned an HVAC company himself. His work ethic—and his own impressive leadership abilities—gave me a strong foundation during my 15-year tenure under his guidance. From him, I learned that success comes from treating everyone with kindness and understanding—and from continuous learning and training, as the trade seems to evolve constantly. I’m very proud of the way I value my team. I’m also proud of the ecoconscious solutions and client roster we have developed together over the years.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s all relative, right? But the road has been pretty smooth overall. One of the challenges I’ve overcome as a woman leader in HVAC was breaking through the stereotypes and biases that once dominated the field—even if it was just a mental hurdle on my end, and no longer the reality of the mechanical industry. I can’t emphasize enough how much the sector is evolving, because people are truly more open-minded than ever. On my part, I simply tried to quiet the noise early in my career—and focus on gaining knowledge and skills, so that I could eventually build a strong, capable team of technicians (plus a reputation for exceptional service and powerful yet elegant, performance-enhancing systems).
Another (minor) struggle involved budgeting in Climatisation HVAC Inc.’s earliest stages. We managed to stay lean without cutting corners, but it wasn’t always easy. With my MBA, I knew what to invest in—namely, high-quality materials and qualified efficient team —and what we could do without.
Staying on top of frequent regulatory changes in the industry, and integrating them into our mechanical systems, is also a constant challenge. Adapting to new technologies and regulations is demanding, but it really is the key to our success. The fact that clients keep coming back and refer us to others speaks volumes, and it means more than I can adequately say.
