Daily Inspiration: Meet La Burg

Today we’d like to introduce you to La Burg .

La Burg

La Burg , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We started, two friends working in a fine dining restaurant in San Francisco. We were both already anxious for something new and when the pandemic hit it really motivated us to move into a direction that was more exciting for both of us – as it did for so many people. We already had a sauce, and found the perfect pairing for it, a spicy, juicy, cheesy, burger . We were eager to move to LA were it seemed like so many people were excited about pop ups and new food so we left San Francisco and started La Burg!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with anything there will always be some bumps along the way. At first it was both of us juggling working 40+ hours at a second job and now it is the struggles of learning as we go. We make plenty of mistakes but we are lucky to have a great community to bother with questions and the people who come out to eat our burger that keeps us excited to keep going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
first and foremost we love to be around people. We are both people who love to chat and who get excited about the product that we are putting out. We grew up in hospitality and worked for a company that encouraged a unique guest experience and taught us to go above and beyond and we now know that’s what we both like to do. We wanted to create a pop up with not only great food and something that we want everyone to try but somewhere that people want to come hang out. A place that people want to bring their friends, their parents when they come into town and their first dates. We just want our community to enjoy some good backyard burgers and have some fun with us.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Something that we think a lot of people can probably relate to is that community is so important and having some good friends and some good food is a recipe for a great time. After COVID I don’t think either of us were really motivated to go back to a job that we weren’t fully committed to, especially when there was something we wanted to do more. It was a very hard time but it encouraged us to do something that was more fulfilling for ourselves.
