Check Out Liza Seneca and Matthew Leavitt’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liza Seneca and Matthew Leavitt.

Liza Seneca Matthew Leavitt

Hi Liza and Matthew, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
We are two friends who met doing a play together called ‘The Boomerang Effect’ at the Odyssey Theatre in 2012. Matthew was the writer, and Liza was one of the actresses. We quickly bonded over our mutual love of Shakespeare, and in 2016, we formed The 6th Act and have been creating theatre together ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Producing high-quality theatre on a shoestring budget in an ever-changing landscape is an incredible challenge we are constantly overcoming. But one challenge we love is the task of finding how to make classic works like Shakespeare engaging to a modern audience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a Los Angeles-based theatre company that specializes in Shakespeare and new works.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
