Today, we’d like to introduce you to Eric Christianson. Eric was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Matt Kovacs.
Eric, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
Well, I was one of five kids, right in the middle. Raised in a Christian home by parents who loved each other very much and loved us kids probably even more. They both worked hard to keep us all fed and clothed. I had a pair of sneakers for school and a pair of cleats for afterwards that I’d wear until the rubber wore off. No one seemed too rich where I lived, so we never felt like we were missing out.
It was a small town in the Pacific Northwest called Sequim, Washington. Today it’s known for its lavender and elk herd, but when I lived there it was just a farming and milling town. I didn’t appreciate it at the time, but this place was the best outdoors playground a boy could ask for. I was always out in the woods exploring, building forts, tracking animals.
That love for adventure stayed with me as I joined the military with an appointment to West Point, and later in service leading soldiers from the jungles of Panama to the air assault missions of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. I was in for a while, but later I found myself in brand management at Procter & Gamble. The “P&G Way” taught me the fundamentals of brand building and running a business, more than an MBA could, but I wanted one for legitimacy I think, and so I worked on that at night and on weekends until I finally earned it. After P&G, where I worked on Jif peanut butter and Folgers coffee, I continued at other top-tier food companies – Campbell’s and Perdue Farms – for the next 20 or so years.
All that has brought me to what I’m doing today. Recruited out of big corporate by a strategic investor to create a food company from the ground up that provides the best nutrient-dense food anywhere, and serves a customer who cares deeply about the same things I do – self-reliance, responsibility, freedom. It’s truly my ultimate dream job, where I’m CEO and also an owner, leading our team here on the ground in Reno-Tahoe, Nevada.

Please tell us more about your brand, Nutrient Survival
We believe food should free you, not fail you. But that’s the problem today. Most food that we buy, that we eat, is ultra-processed and worse, void of nutrition. Over the course of the past several decades, Big Ag and Big Food has pushed production and profit above our health. Think about it, tomatoes are big and red, but tasteless. Chicken breasts are so big they don’t even fit in the trays anymore, and when you bite into them, they’re hard and rubbery. Artificial flavors, colors and preservatives are the things you see on labels these days, not the nutrients that we need – that our bodies need, that our brains need. That’s why here at Nutrient Survival, we’re on a mission to change all that with performance nutrition food. We make the world’s most nutrient-packed food using a patent-pending combination of 40 essential nutrients – vitamins, minerals, protein amino acids, omega fatty acids, and fiber. We start with delicious chef-made recipes, with fresh real ingredients like shredded Idaho potatoes, red bell peppers, sweet onions, Cheddar cheese and more, and then bring it all together in small, handcrafted batches right here in our kitchen. Then, we fortify them with our proprietary bundle of essential nutrients up to an excellent source of them all. But that’s just the beginning, because we then freeze dry our food for a full day with a very delicate process that removes all the water, but locks in the complex flavor and protects all the nutrition we put into. The result is long-lasting, top shelf, delicious food that will ensure you and your family can endure during times of stress, and thrive every day. We’re really proud of our journey as a company and brand over these past four years. We started with a focus on emergency food, helping people prepare. After all, nothing prepares you like proper nutrition. But we’ve recently expanded our products to provide performance nutrition with everyday delicious food, and our latest innovation in brain health. Sadly, cognitive decline is on the rise as our bodies age, but our brains don’t keep up. Today, 1 in 3 seniors is dying with some form of dementia. The good news is that this does not have to be your fate. Just 3% is due to genetics, the other 97% due to life choices and behavior. We wrote a book that lays it all out called “Eat to Think.” But to cut to the chase, it starts with nutrition. That’s why we designed a new range of foods called BrainCare, with the star of the show being our patent-pending Brain Omega 3 Bar. It’s so delicious, you’d never know that each bar has as much omega 3 as a fillet of salmon, but without the fishy taste. Anyone that visits our website at NutrientSurvival.com can get a free sample and also download a free PDF of our book.
