Meet Dr. Aristotle Economou of The Beverly Hills Wellness Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Aristotle Economou.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Economou. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Nothing takes the place of personal experience. This is why as a doctor I understand the difficulties my patients face when dealing with a personal health challenge.

In 2006, an event occurred that turned my life upside down and put my years of clinical expertise in healthcare to the ultimate test.

Over a short period, an autoimmune disorder began to eat away the muscles throughout my body. I became paralyzed with only the ability to slightly move my hands at the wrists and blink my eyes.

I ended up in an intensive care unit (ICU), followed by a 72-day stay in a hospital. I was told he may never walk again. Throughout the year, my healing journey continued while confined to an electric wheelchair and requiring 24/7 around-the-clock care.

With assistance and determination, I combined many of my personal modalities I have used over the years with some newly discovered ones from Functional Medicine, Eastern Medicine and techniques in Chiropractic, Laser Acupuncture and Tui Na. This resulted in the ability to rebuild my body, mind and spirit, which was the foundation to a miraculous recovery and ability to walk again.

To share my success story, I wrote the book, Change the Way You Heal: 7 Steps To Highly Effective Healing. No matter what a person’s health problem is, this inspirational book shows how to maximize your healing abilities using the similar methods I implemented in my own recovery.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest struggle began in 2006, while in private practice, I began to stumble and trip. Within a few months I was completely paralyzed with only the ability to move my hands at the wrists and blink my eyes. That year and the events that followed turned out to be a nightmare.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
In my clinic, I see range of health problems by integrating Euro-Asian treatments with modern Western protocols. I developed The 3 Dimension Treatment Program™. It is a high-level health platform that takes each patient step-by-step through the essentials they need to build upon to help overcome their health problem.

This unique approach identifies the crucial biochemistry, energetic and structural imbalances that can lead up to illness, pain or fatigue. It is this very method that I used to overcome and heal from my paralyzing autoimmune health problem in 2006.

What were you like growing up?
A wellness approach was already in my life at a very young age. Growing up, I remember my mother always packing my school lunches with “health” foods like sprouts in my sandwiches, raw vegetables and very minimal sweets or junk food. I was always frustrated at the contents of my lunch bag because no one would want to trade fun foods with healthy foods I offered!

Science and anatomy were of profound interest. I was fascinated how the body had the ability to heal on its own. Even a scrape on the skin would form a scab and heal so quickly without any intervention other than a band aid. My interests continued to expanded into the healing arts while seeing the various injuries in the sports I participated in.
