Conversations with Elise Mesner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise Mesner.

Elise Mesner

Hi Elise, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi EVERYONE, I’m Lellopepper. My earliest start was growing up in Southwest Detroit, my entire journey into adulthood. Spent many summers going to Carpet House, riding bikes in Critical Mass, driving to Canada… sailing in Lake St. Clair with ketchup chips, watercolor paper, paints, and a camera. Creating art for group/solo exhibits in Detroit. Great memories of getting my art installation ready at the Detroit City Fest 2008, alongside The Zombies and De La Soul sound checks. Really enjoyed the art scene as a teenager and am grateful for the experiences and memories. Now, doing the same in Los Angeles. These days, I’m working on sustainable art: land sculptures, paintings, and handmade clothing. Growing lots of fruits and trees in my backyard greenhouse – they’ve become family.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With any bump or setback, I try to take that time as a place to be grateful for – what is. What is working, what is listening, what is present, and with that appreciation, I notice there’s more focus on the good things and that energy begets more smoothness.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in inventive visual art that aims to promote happiness via nature, vibrant colors, and a touch of juxtaposition. Most known for my fine art food photography, paintings and poetry. I think all the flowers bloom together and I’m proud of that.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Thank you all for your support.

Big love all over.
