Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Chantal Lunderville.
Hi Dr. Lunderville, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a family medicine physician who fancies herself more as a creator than a doctor. I graduated residency in 2018 and was burnt out and exhausted by the training and schooling. Out of passion for beauty, I opened a concierge practice in Botox and fillers, which grew quickly into a robust medical spa. I also began taking on other medical spas who needed supervision and oversight in a medical director role. Currently, I oversee several practices throughout California, and I focus on mentorship, empowering your mindset, and creating the life of your dreams through entrepreneurship and community.
Last year, I also cofounded InPower, a women’s empowerment summit that brings women together from all industries and walks of life to give them experiences that help them build confidence, tools to elevate every area of their lives, and a supportive community. Our events have been incredibly successful in brand partnerships, vendors, and attendance.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the biggest challenges in the beginning of my business were how to take care of patients on my own. I had come from a supportive environment in academia where I had a lot of help and support. The first 2 years of starting my own business were the hardest because I was building a new level of resilience and confidence. As I became a medical director, I knew this was important to address for new injectors to feel supported and not alone through the ups and downs.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in launching successful medspas and helping nurses and doctors to create a balanced and rewarding life in beauty and wellness. The foundation for a successful practice are compliance, clinical excellence, and a strong brand. Through our events, I’ve also seen the impact the entrepreneurship and community have had on women in general. Through events, consulting, and medical directing, I’m most proud of the rapid growth and confidence of the women I’ve worked with.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
What is meant for me cannot miss me. I grew up in an entrepreneur family and saw my parents work incredibly hard, on weekends and evenings, to provide for their family. As an entrepreneur myself now, I believe that our generation, and also as women, can do “business as usual” differently. My biggest lesson has been in losing spas that I’ve worked with either through disagreements or if I spot unethical behavior. While it’s always somewhat painful to end a business relationship, something better has always come as a result as well as the wisdom gained. If you focus on learning and growing individually and together, there are no mistakes, only lessons.
