Today we’d like to introduce you to Analeia Bella Madden.
Hi Analeia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I am Analeia Bella Madden. I was born in Austin, Texas, into a family of artistic entrepreneurs. I was born premature, so my dad put little speakers in my incubator that played a lullaby he wrote me. <3 He did this so I would hear that instead of hospital beeps for 3 weeks. Haha, so sweet. My mom and I would always be creating together. She would be painting her towering, angelic canvasses while I did art projects next to her. Those are my fondest memories. She passed away when I was 11, and I stopped creating as much in my teenage years (I wish I hadn’t). A couple years after high school, I decided to apply to F.I.D.M on a whim! I got in, so I was like ok!!! guess I am going to la!!! I didn’t know much about fashion. I just knew I liked to draw, and my grandpa had told me illustrators don’t make money haha. I completed my associates in fashion design and then to my surprise, FIDM asked me to make a collection as part of their Debut program. I was actually shocked; they saw something in me. Of course, I said yes and ended up making something I never thought I was capable of. And now here I am, trying to figure how to adult but still stay in touch with being a creative kid <3
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say the road has been smooth haha. Losing my muse, and best friend: my mom was indescribable, but I do believe everything happens for a reason and I am who I am because of it. Right now, though, I am facing a struggle different than I ever have before. I think it’s the growing up part, becoming less naive, more aware of the not-so-beautiful parts of life, and the importance of money. I am getting a bit stuck in the making art to make money instead of fun and it is definitely not fun. I am feeling that quote, “Don’t forget why you love creating”. But this hurdle will pass and teach me how I best work:) But when I lose my way, I think about how I want to be, and I remember back to my mom. Her soft, glowing energy, big smile, bright blue eyes that were filled with inspiration. She would be blissfully and calmly painting, always experimenting and having the best relationship with it. No stress, just love and flow. <3
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I draw, and I make clothes! I am also a fashion designer and incorporate my drawings into the textiles! <3 I specialize in drawing doll-like characters and bringing them to life! I am known for neon green, baby pink combos with my anime prints. Think Alice in wonderland x street x renaissance. I am most proud of what I have been able to come up with and accomplish in my art and designs! They are unique, fun, and whimsical <3 My designs often feature clean lines, tailored cuts, and unexpected twists, infusing classic styles with a touch of avant-garde flair. Bright colors and bold silhouettes that mix hard and soft!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family has always encouraged me to shoot for the stars and pursue my craft. My mentors at F.I.D.M 100% are the best; they saw something in me and gave me the tools to succeed and kick off my career. They gave me knowledge, they pushed me out of my comfort zone, they gave me a platform, encouragement, and love. They changed my life! And all my friends and people around me are very supportive and keep me encouraged to keep going!!! I am eternally grateful for everyone in my life. <333
