Hi Annalee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a fashion photographer turned wedding photographer, recently moved to LA from Australia. I spent my twenties traveling the globe – living across Australia & Bali – following the sun & collecting inspiration for my work now.
I recently started ‘Touch the Sky Weddings’ – the answer to wedding photography for the new generation of brides. I shoot 35mm vintage film & digital – for a fresh, cool new twist on wedding photography. It combines the best of old and new for something timeless yet different.
So many of my friends got married this year – and they all complained that wedding photographers were wildly overpriced & a bit outdated. Nothing cool you’d actually wanna post on your Instagram later…
I hope ‘Touch the Sky Weddings’ is the solution to that problem. We’re known for our ultra-stylish, romantic, and timeless photos that are full of magic & charm.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As with any worthwhile story – it hasn’t always been plain sailing. This journey started off smooth and exciting – as many do. However, as soon as things started to take off – something happened that tested the depths of my strength, patience, and perseverance. It showed me the importance of self-reliance, belief in yourself, and building things on terra firma.
But after the rain comes massive rainbows. Or, in my case, a trip to Tulum…to shoot a very special friend’s wedding 😉
As you know, we’re big fans of Touch the Sky Weddings. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?

I shoot digital & 35mm vintage film. Like the old-school photos your parents had at their wedding.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Ooh, perhaps one of my favorite topics to discuss. When I was younger, I always used to get asked “Why are you so happy?”
I’ve always been really smiley, giggly, friendly – as many children are. But as we get older – we close up little by little…put a lid on our joy…start wearing neutrals…start fitting in. I read something recently about how joy is a vulnerable emotion. It makes you open – and in a world – that we’ve been made to believe is dangerous – why would you be open? So, we close – and close in on our joy, too. Our lifeline & raison d’etre. So, happiness for me – is whenever I’m brave enough to swim and splash in the unbridled waters of joy. And sometimes, that just means putting on yellow pants. And not being afraid if I get a few stares in the grocery store.
