Thanks for sharing your story with us Lev. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my company in my parent’s basement in Columbus OH when I was 20 years old. The problem we are trying to solve is twofold, first we are trying to help consumers lower their insurance cost while educating them on importance of insurance and making insurance easier to understand. We help people comparison shop rates from most top-rated companies in minutes and unlock savings that are not readily available. On the flip side of the business we are able to help local agents connect with high intent shoppers. Today we have a network of over 3000 agencies and over 50 carriers on our platform and we are helping over 300,000 insurance shoppers each month connect with our network of insurance providers. We are considered one of the top insurance comparison search engines and operate in 50 states supporting all major lines of insurance.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any start-up the road has been incredibly bumpy, challenging yet educational. One of our colorful struggles was written about by Inc (https://www.inc.com/magazine/20101001/case-study-when-your-website-crashes-constantly.html).
We have been faced with market challenges, employee problems, and everything else a bootstrapped startup can imagine.

What were you like growing up?
I was always very drawn to starting business ventures. In College, my friend and I started a hot dog stand at the Ohio State University and our story was even picked up by Sports Illustrated.
