My Journey: My story really began in Detroit, but it took a significant turn when I moved to California in 2021 amidst the pandemic. This period marked a major reset in my life, where I delved deeper into my spiritual relationship. A life-changing moment was surviving a medical emergency during my last pregnancy, especially after a premonitory dream of death. This experience was a wake-up call, leading me to an epiphany to fully embrace and walk in my purpose. I’ve been mentoring young girls and ladies for as long as I can remember, opening my home to those in need and fostering an environment that encourages self-esteem, self-worth, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. I’ve come to realize that my calling transcends being an author, medical provider, and local mentor; my impact is global.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Navigating Life’s Ups and Downs: Life’s thrown me a few curveballs, but who hasn’t had their share, right? Juggling family life, especially with my kiddos, who each have their own special needs, has been quite the adventure. It’s these moments, though, that have really shown me what I’m made of. More than anything, they’ve taught me the power of just rolling with the punches and finding the silver lining, even when it seems a bit hidden. These experiences have been my real-life lessons in patience, empathy, and resilience. They’ve shown me that it’s okay to have tough days as long as you keep moving forward with a bit of grace and a lot of hope. It’s all about taking life one day at a time and finding joy in the journey, no matter what comes your way. However, as I delved deeper into writing, my purpose broadened. I found refuge in sharing encouraging words and motivational scriptures that went beyond mere advice. Writing became a form of therapy, an outlet that allowed me to express and connect with readers on a more personal level. It was through this process of seeking to inspire and support others that my voice as an author emerged.

My Business and Brand: I’m the proud founder of Care First Wellness Med Spa in Southern California, a venture that combines my extensive educational background with my entrepreneurial spirit. I specialize in offering top-quality treatments and services with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility for minorities. My faith deeply influences my work, guiding me to promote wellness and beauty from within. What sets me apart is not just my commitment to excellence in healthcare but also my dedication to empowering minorities, advocating for mental health, and fostering diversity in the business world. I’m most proud of how my brand reflects these values, aiming to inspire and uplift everyone it touches. But my work doesn’t stop at the spa doors. I’ve taken my experiences and lessons learned and poured them into writing, too. My book, “Unbreakable Woman: Embracing Resilience in Every Season,” is a big piece of my heart. It’s not just about sharing my story; it’s about offering hope and encouragement to anyone who might need a little boost. Through it, I get to connect with people on a whole different level, sharing insights and uplifting messages grounded in faith and real-life challenges.
And then there’s the speaking engagements. Getting out there in front of people, sharing my journey, and hopefully sparking a bit of inspiration is something I truly cherish. It’s about building those real human connections and letting people know they’re not alone in their struggles.
I organize dynamic networking events aimed at empowering women by fostering diverse collaborations and providing supportive platforms. To expand and enhance these initiatives, I am seeking sponsorships that will enable us to reach and empower a broader community of women.
What are your plans for the future?
Future Plans: Looking forward, I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. I plan to continue expanding my reach, breaking down barriers, and creating more opportunities for those who have been historically underserved. My journey is ever-evolving, driven by a vision to make a significant and positive impact on a global scale. I’m looking forward to embracing whatever changes and challenges that come my way, with faith and determination as my guiding principles.
In this season, I’m diversifying my media presence to better represent and empower women, particularly in healthcare and leadership. I’m engaging with television projects as a healthcare expert, contributing to podcasts and online publications with empowering narratives and expanding my public speaking engagements at key conferences. Additionally, I’m leveraging social media to share inspiring stories of resilience and innovation. Through these efforts, I aim to contribute to a more inclusive and positive portrayal of women’s diverse roles and strengths.
