Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Lazaris.
Hi Alex, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Being a self-taught designer, I feel incredibly fortunate to have built the career I have now. I have built brands and led creative campaigns for some of the most iconic brands in the world. Over the past 16+ years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with brands such as Adobe, Balenciaga, Epic Games, Fortnite, Unreal Engine, Twitch, Hilton, Pfizer, Louisville Slugger, Hertz, MillerCoors, Reflektive, Dell, Honeywell, VML, Legalshield, IDshield, as well as many more. I started my design career by building websites for clients in the early days of the internet. Eventually, my design skills outgrew my coding ability, and I found my passion for helping businesses navigate their entrepreneurial and strategic problems, and paired that with creative execution.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, of course not. I think glossy life journeys only exist in some fairy tales and what people try to portray on social media. Just like others in the creative/branding industry, I’ve had periods of feasts and periods of famine. I am fortunate that from an early age, I was able to practice resilience and get accustomed to trying and failing at things. As a lifelong athlete, a professional downhill skateboarder, amateur motorcycle, and race car driver, I seem to learn quickest from crashing. I apply this same ethos to my career and the work that I do with clients, and the results seem to speak for themselves. I am constantly trying to find the perfect balance between crashing and success. I believe that we can always tune down phenomenal ideas to fit budget, scope, and timelines, but it’s nearly impossible to make something boring or exceptional.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets our studio apart from others is that when we enter relationships with our clients, we set out to help them transform their business. We do this by building strategies, brands, and creativity that drive results and inspire. We help local and international businesses of all sizes adapt, pivot, and expand their worlds. Obviously, we are super sharp with our design craft, but our clients expect that, so we go further and help solve the most relevant and pressing questions that they have on their minds. I am super proud that for our small studio size, we have an outsized impact on our clients’ businesses and the industries they operate in. From Start-Ups and Scale-Ups to Large Enterprises, we have seen and done it all. We pride ourselves on our ability to precisely slot into your business, no matter the project, scale, or organization.
We’ve driven billions in valuations, accumulated countless impressions, and built experiences that redefine cultural norms for our partners.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Honestly, there are so many. I would be amiss if I didn’t mention Adobe Live. (be.net/adobelive) where designers and creatives (including myself) teach you tips and tricks using the Adobe Suite, all for free.
