Hi Tasveer, itโs an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us โ to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I struggled with alcohol the entire decade of my 20โs.
Drinking on an empty stomach, the high from the liquor would hit my system much quicker that way.
Some days Iโd wake up waiting for the liquor store to open, first customer at 7 am.
It wasnโt until I got married at 30 that I realizedโฆ if I didnโt figure out a way to take my health back into my own hands, people around me would suffer as well.
My wife didnโt deserve that; she didnโt know she married an alcoholic.
I had to do something to change.
I used the motivation from the new life given to me in marriage as fuel to go days without drinking, and relapse after a couple of weeks.
And start over again.
Eventually, it got to the point where I am today.
Seven years and four monthsโฆ ๐๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐๐.
When I trademarked ๐๐ฅ๐ค๐-๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐, itโs important to note I was at the time already three years alcohol-free and thriving in my current job.
Right before Covid, November of 2019, a month after my Father in Law passed, (another reminder of how precious life truly is) I lost my job.
Tired of playing the games involved in climbing corporate ladders, suppressing your true, authentic selfโฆ
I made a decision that this wasnโt going to be my story anymore.
I wanted to be my own boss, and help people heal their bodies through lifestyle choices and healthy water-drinking habits.
Habits that saved my life.
โฆhelped me inspire everyone around me by letting go of alcohol and making the switch to drinking water insteadโฆ
I knew that people were dehydrated, they didnโt understand why their bodies were so sick and sluggishโฆ
Through the gift of wordplay, putting words together in a unique fashion, going from an alcoholic to an Alka-Holic felt natural.
(A play on the word ๐๐ฅ๐ค๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐)
We seeked out law firms to Trademark this brilliant idea to put on a Tee Shirt and start a lifestyle brand inspired by water, coming from a former alcohol abuser.
The water community that I am involved with loved the idea and we developed a fan base.
Anyone who has been in a tough place in their lives understands what it means to โtake your power backโ
We can do this through diet and water.
Going from an extremely acidic lifestyle full of disease and despair to alkaline living, drinking on average, close to a gallon of water a day.
The clothing line sector of our brand has representation in different parts of the country and itโs a blessing to create with a purpose to propel the mission of hydration forward.
We also developed a Business Plan, coaching people struggling with alcohol addiction
and some ย of the members of our living water community have tested almost every water there is on the market!
We are on the right path to enlightenment, holding a torch for others to see along the way through their journeys to hopefully understand that recovery is possible.
Now we plan to expand to alkaline water stores across the nation and speak on many more platforms to share our story.
Coming to the song we released just now, โI Can Only Be Meโ.
It was the alcohol struggles of our favorite TV Show Character Chandler Bing that prompted us to speak out.
The death of Matthew Perry hit us hard and we became emotional, the song almost serves as a tribute to him and many others in the fight to help others.
Iโm sure it wasnโt obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Family was a big obstacle; coming from a 3rd world country we were always taught to hold down a 9-5.
And we tried that for 15 years, but the feeling of running our own company and being able to help others through the message of our brand gave me a feeling that we simply canโt put a price value on.
Many, many people doubted us during the first few years, youโre crazy, you invested in a scam, youโre not listening to the Doctors, but we know that listening to our own bodies is much more important than the thoughts and opinions of others who simply havenโt been in your shoes.
So I would say Family, the people closest to you, can be a hindrance emotionally and mentally if the communication isnโt there.
