My name is Oren Amir and I am the Founder & CEO of GO Builders, a design and build construction company. My journey in the construction industry began as a project manager in a well-established construction firm located in the vibrant region of Southern California. During this early phase of my career, I started to recognize the growing potential and demand within the construction industry, not just in Southern California but across the entire United States. This realization sparked my curiosity, and I soon found myself delving deeper into the intricacies of the construction business.
As I continued to explore the industry, I developed a deep-seated passion for it. The prospect of creating structures that would stand the test of time while also contributing to the landscape of Southern California was incredibly inspiring to me. This passion drove me to strive for excellence in both project management and construction, constantly honing my skills. However, I noticed that traditional construction doesn’t work well with customers. Many homeowners have had bad experiences renovating their homes: The communication between the homeowner and contractor was lacking. This pivotal realization led to the inception of GO Builders.
Today, I am thrilled to see GO Builders thriving! We have managed to create a company that not only excels in construction but also prioritizes the cultivation of authentic relationships with our clients. Our approach revolves around open communication, transparency, and a commitment to ensuring our clients’ dreams are brought to life. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting GO Builders was, in a sense, a relatively smooth process, given our clear vision to focus on the client-builder relationship and expertise in the field. However, the GO Builders Team’s path to success encountered hurdles that pushed us to grow and innovate continuously.
One of the most significant obstacles I encountered was the pressure to conform to the traditional contractor stereotype. Being a young professional in the field, I initially attempted to fit into the mold established by older, more traditional contractors. I soon realized that authenticity and clear communication were my strengths. It wasn’t about how we conformed to a predetermined image but about the unique way GO Builders approached projects and built genuine relationships with clients. Overcoming this challenge ultimately led us to redefine our role in the industry.
Another obstacle we faced was the intense competition within the Southern California construction sector. With thousands of contractors vying for projects, standing out in this crowded marketplace was no easy feat. To distinguish ourselves, we adopted a strategy centered around clear communication and focusing on our relationship with the client as the foundation of our projects. Our challenges became opportunities for growth and innovation, shaping the GO Builders Team into the company we are today.
