Today we’d like to introduce you to Sia Savvy.

Sia Savvy

Hi Sia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my television career in the world of true-crime content, a genre that has always captivated me. My early experiences laid the foundation for my storytelling skills and ignited my passion for unraveling complex narratives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on a diverse range of television projects, including reality TV, docuseries, and most recently, feature-length documentaries. My work has been featured on multiple platforms and networks, from ESPN+ and Hulu to VH1, Oxygen, ID Channel, TVOne, BET, Animal Planet, Tubi Originals, and others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While I’m committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in my work, advocating for these values within the industry can be met with resistance. I have often found myself pushing for more inclusive content and decision-making processes. This level of advocacy often requires persistence, determination, and diplomacy. Also, In the television industry, there is a delicate dance between creating content that aligns with one’s artistic vision and producing content that aligns with the commercial interests of networks and platforms. Striking this balance can be a continual challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As the owner of Savvy Media Group, I specialize in producing and directing unscripted content, with a diverse portfolio that includes feature length documentaries, true-crime shows, docu-series, and reality TV. I am most proud of my ability to use the medium of television to address important social issues.

Whether through my documentaries or docu-series, I aim to craft narratives that move people, spark meaningful conversations, and bring about positive change in society.

What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to creating content that not only captivates audiences but also champions inclusivity. I firmly believe in the power of storytelling to shed light on the often-overlooked contributions of women and people of color in the industry.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on individuals and society. This passion is deeply rooted in my belief that stories hold the key to understanding, empathy, and positive change. These values drive my work in the television industry and inspire my commitment to authenticity and diversity.
