My journey into social media marketing began modestly—I was making flyers on Canva to promote my ballroom dance group classes. That simple, creative act sparked a passion that would chart the course of my career for the next ten years. It wasn’t long before the skills I honed there opened doors to the dynamic worlds of entertainment and sports marketing.

Over the next decade, I immersed myself in the industry, collaborating with diverse brands on numerous campaigns. This rich tapestry of experiences taught me the power of storytelling and the importance of a well-crafted digital identity.

Today, AC Social Design is the culmination of that journey. Our agency is where strategy and creativity converge to amplify voices in the bustling digital marketplace. From a Canva flyer to developing comprehensive strategies, the goal has always been the same: to make every interaction count.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Far from it! Carving out my place in social media marketing has been akin to a dance with a constantly changing partner—the notorious algorithm. It’s a rhythm that demands constant learning, quick adapting, and strategic thinking. Despite the challenges and the ever-evolving digital landscape, I’ve learned to navigate through the industry’s storms with a sense of resilience only a decade of experience can bestow.

Then there’s the COVID-19 era—an unprecedented time that saw a surge of social media marketers and content creators. As people turned to digital platforms for connection and entertainment, the space became incredibly crowded. Brands gravitated towards the instant gratification of viral content, and here I was, advocating for the power of sustained engagement and consistent storytelling. It was a time that tested our adaptability and creativity. Yet, we not only survived but learned how to truly stand out in an oversaturated market, proving that depth and dedication can triumph over quick viral fame.

Through it all, the journey has been a masterclass in tenacity and the art of standing out. In an industry where change is the only constant, we’ve thrived by embracing the ebb and flow, always ready to demonstrate the value of experienced hands at the helm.

It will likely be marked by several transformative trends. The transient nature of social media platforms is well-established, with the fluctuating popularity of apps like Clubhouse serving as a prime example. However, a more significant shift is occurring in the realm of user engagement with technology and its assimilation into our day-to-day existence. TikTok’s meteoric success highlights a growing preference for concise, captivating content, indicating a trend toward platforms that emphasize quick consumption and entertainment.

Looking to the future, we can anticipate a surge in artificial intelligence use that goes beyond content curation to fundamentally reshape audience engagement strategies. The advent of virtual and augmented reality suggests a fusion of our physical and digital realities, presenting untapped avenues for brand-audience interactions that are immersive and interactive.

Lastly, the boundaries between social media and e-commerce are also blending, with platforms like Instagram and Facebook leading the charge in social shopping experiences. This integration will likely deepen, giving rise to a more seamless consumer journey from discovery to purchase.
