Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Richmond.
Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was inspired by comedy through music. I didn’t have any musical talent, but at some point I realized I had a passion to perform. I also felt small existentially and knew that I could have a big voice. If I’m gonna be so small, then maybe I can do something big. I started doing comedy after college and realized if I wanted to do this, I had to work at it like everything else and that it’s like a muscle. The more you work at it, the stronger you get. It’s been a long road, and I’ve had plenty of ups and downs, but it’s exciting to get to the point where you feel proud about being good at something. Of course, we all want to be rich, maybe famous, but for a lot of people, there is a lot of validation in just being good at something. I’m now producing shows, headlining, and traveling all over the world as a result of stand-up comedy. Respect is the only true currency, and self-respect makes you feel rich inside.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s a tough business. It should be enough that you’re good at something, but obviously, showbiz has a lot of twists and turns. But none of us here are getting out alive, so to think you were gonna go through life and only have good times is nuts. The bad shit makes you learn more about yourself, and if you can come through tough times with your head held high, then you’ll be a stronger person for it.
Some of the other struggles is just getting the work. Doing it is the easy part; getting the work is the hard part. Tough travel schedules too, but in this career, you only do it if you love it.. You can see the people who walk through it versus the ones you can tell are just having a blast.
They say in comedy, we get paid to travel and do the show for free.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a stand-up comedian and writer. Getting to express myself in this forum is gratifying. If you can figure out your voice and apply it, it’s very comforting letting it all out. If I didn’t have the stage, I’m sure I would have killed someone by now. Hahaha. The stage is a great place to vent and let is all loose.
I’m mostly proud of sticking to it and never giving up. Resiliency, man. You gotta stay in line in this business otherwise, you’ll miss your turn. I rode it out, and now I’m getting my due.
Now, I’m producing shows for the US Military and having a blast. It’s nice to be able to give back to people who do so much for this great country.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Come to a show and laugh. Or if you want to bring back funny movies, I’m onto that next. Too much depressing shit these last few years; time to bring back the funny.

The shots with the group are all US Marines from a show I produce for the military across the US and overseas. It’s called ‘Comedy From The Corps’. That’s a shot from a Marine base in Okinawa, Japan and the other pic is of a high ranking General from the base in Mt. Fuji, Japan.
