Rising Stars: Meet Tina Marie Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Marie Young.

Tina Marie Young

Hi Tina Marie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up a military child. Our family was fortunate in that we traveled to many countries, allowing me to experience different languages, currencies, cultures, and lifestyles, and feeling so much of the world’s natural beauty inspired me to absorb all it had to offer. Since childhood, I rarely left the house without paper, a pen, or a camera. I think the experiences I was able to live opened my mind and gave me a strong desire to share all I learned by becoming a writer.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Once I started publishing children’s books, looking back, it seemed like a smoother road than I thought it would be. Writing books has been my life’s ambition, but until independent authoring became available, the road was challenging for many bestselling authors today. I am very grateful that more writers can publish their words so that audiences everywhere can read and see the talent of many more artists. We live in a world of genuinely gifted people.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the author of a collection of children’s books called The Mystery Puzzle Series. For as long as I can remember, I had a magical puzzle piece speaking to me and sharing ideas about adventures, places, and kids it had encountered. I named the adventurous puzzle piece The Mystery Puzzle. I had no idea what the experiences were before I wrote the stories, but I knew The Mystery Puzzle wanted me to share how it had become the subconscious for kids looking for understanding in situations they might be experiencing as children.

Growing up, I spent much of my free time reading, and most of the books I read are fantasy and classic books today. I enjoyed reading about what might be, what can be, and how a bright imagination can create a solid connection to the world around us.

I have strongly supported independent authors and their teams since the conception of the Kindle in 2007. I shout out the artistic talent it takes to build books children will love, read over and over, and want to share with their kids someday. As authors, we should enlighten our readers to the beautiful books we feel they will enjoy and remember.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I feel more fortunate than lucky. I am so grateful for the opportunities that have entered my life, and I try my best to give back when I can. Keeping an open mind to the JOY that enters your life can only lead you in a positive direction.
