Life & Work with Tiffany Coleman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Coleman.

Tiffany Coleman

Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Some of us know all too well the feeling of being “tender headed”. I was a tender-headed kid that hated getting my hair done. Once I learned how to do my own hair, I never turned back. That jump-started my love for the industry. I started doing my friend’s hair in middle school & as the years went by, no matter what other career direction I tried to go in, I always found myself back behind the salon chair. 2013, I enrolled in beauty school to get my license & grow in the industry. It was the best decision I’ve made thus far. Fast forward to 2023, I’ve accomplished so much more & now working towards opening a hair loss clinic.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest challenge with pursuing a career in the beauty industry is begging rigid. Sometimes, it’s good to choose a lane & stay in it when the options are so broad but it’s so important to understand that trends are a huge part of the business & if you aren’t willing to adjust & make changes that can support your current clientele or support the expansion of your books, you’ll be stagnant. & that’s a horrible spot to find yourself in such a lucrative business!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Associate Trichologist. While I am still behind the chair offering Stylist services, I am also a specialist and hair loss and scout disorders. I am most proud of my decision to pursue a career in trichology because I am able to help my clients more and reach a wider clientele base. With this new information I have found throughout my growth in my career I have been able to touch many more lives and help many more men and women that are suffering from noticeable hair loss and pesky scalp disorders. What sets me apart is my keen understanding of the information I have learned and my ability to help my clients understand how to apply the information.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Find a mentor that fits your vision. It’s easy to find people that are doing the same thing that you’re doing but that doesn’t always mean they necessarily have the same application that you have. At times we can get lost looking at people that seem to look very successful, but they don’t have the same methods and the same morals that we do when it comes to our values and our core values in our business. That’s why it’s important to find someone that fits the mold that you’re looking for as far as what you want to do with in your future.
