Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob White.
Hi Rob, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Liv’s a little over two years ago. I had a small chicken restaurant that was failing and I needed to make a quick change. I worked on the concept for about six months and opened up in September of 2021. It has been a slow slow build with tons of changes and now I finally feel like we are at a place of sustainability and have been running on all cylinders with a super strong team and great clientele. It’s been a dream come true to live out my dream of having my own restaurant and just another chapter in a fun journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been the bumpiest road I could ever imagine from trying to have different partners and investors not work out or having constant money issues where I felt I wasn’t going to be able to pay the bills. From having my gas and electricity turned off as well as having purveyors pausing my ordering for not being able to pay all the bills. It’s been quite a struggle, but everyone has believed in me and what we’re doing along the way and I’m forever grateful for everyone along the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Liv’s?
We are a small oyster bar and seafood restaurant. We like to be known for bringing in the freshest seafood in our area and producing high-quality food day in and day out. We like to believe our smaller menu brings the most consistent product every day with high-quality service.
What were you like growing up?
I was an awkward young kid that didn’t really know what he wanted to do. Didn’t care much about school or education but learning about the different business that my family were a part of. Played a lot of sports and hung out with friends in my free time.
