Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Diaz.
Hi Angela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a High School Senior, I knew my destiny was in Education. I have always loved working with the youth and inspiring them to achieve both their personal and academic goals. When I graduated High School, I worked as Teacher’s Assistant for LAUSD, I also worked as a Special Education 1 to 1 assistant, and I also had Camp Counselor roles which I enjoyed, and learned a lot from. Through the years, I built many strong relationships with the Teachers I worked with and many of the student families, so this helped me a lot when I started my business in 2021. During the last seven years, I have worked as an English and Spanish Teacher with Middle School and High School, and that is when I knew I was meant to be a Teacher and a Private Tutor. So in 2021, during the midst of the pandemic, I launched Ms. Diaz Tutoring and it has been the most exciting and best decision I have ever made. I am now working with 8 Wonderful Tutors who truly make my Business everything that it is today, an amazing space where children are demonstrating their full potential.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would definitely say that there has been bumps on the road while creating my business, but honestly I would not have had it any other way. When I first started, I did not know how to reach the audience that I needed. I felt like I was advertising at the wrong places because I would not get people to sign up. Later on, I learned that I needed to meet more Moms, and I needed to become a part of their inner circle in order to reach my target customers. It was definitely an amazing learning experience, and I then joined all these different Facebook Mom groups and I started to network with different schools and that is when everything started falling into place for my business. I was finally getting many sign ups from parents and schools.

My goal is to inspire today’s youth and help them succeed academically, emotionally, socially, and ultimately reach their goals with guidance from my dedicated staff. In addition to supporting Preschool through College and beyond, we also offer very fun Enrichment classes, such as Spanish, Mandarin, American Sign Language, Art, Music and more. Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was traveling with my mom during the summers when I was off from school. My most memorable trip was visiting Havana, Cuba which is where my dad was born. All my family on my dad’s side lives in Havana, so when we would go to visit them, it was always a treat for me.
