Inspiring Conversations with Erynn Rose of Rose Luxe Collections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erynn Rose.

Erynn Rose

Hi Erynn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH and recently moved to Los Angeles, CA in Summer of 2020. Growing up, I always aimed for success and to make my family proud, as I came from a low-income household. By the time I reached high school, I decided to make sure my academics was a priority while also working and going to college to receive early college credits. My hard work led to me receiving a full ride to college, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I was so thankful for that opportunity because I knew my parents could not afford to put me through school, so to release that burden off their shoulders was such a good feeling. At that time, I moved out and got my very first apartment which is where I discovered my passion for interior design.

I experienced an unparalleled sense of creative freedom and self-expression when I walked through the door of my home, which made me instantly fall in love. From that point on, I dedicated my spare time to designing my space and exploring various home decor options.

Over the years, I embarked on a journey of self-teaching, delving into design concepts, analytics, processes, and the entire realm of interior design. Fueled by my creativity and passion, I came up with the idea to make niche handcrafted coffee table decor books. I always say my books are my small but meaningful gift to the design world.

My transition from Cleveland, OH to Los Angeles, CA was a huge and challenging one. Taking a leap of faith and moving across the country alone was one of the biggest decisions I’ve made in my life. I knew the dreams and visions that I had for my design projects could reach further than the resources I had available in my hometown. While I remain hopeful of one day bringing back my newfound knowledge and experiences to my roots, I am currently focused on expanding the horizons of my creative endeavors in Los Angeles.

After a few months of living in LA, I was accepted into the exclusive Academy of Interior Design, where I received my Interior Design Certificate and was able to work one on one with the award-winning HGTV host, Wanda Colon.

In the present day, I am thrilled to share that I have accomplished numerous successful projects spanning from Hollywood to New Jersey. Additionally, I have taken on the role of a self-author, creating a design e-book that offers valuable insights and budget-friendly tips for achieving a luxurious design aesthetic. I take great pride in these achievements and look forward to further opportunities to contribute to the world of design.

As a designer, my ultimate goal is to infuse a sense of luxury into every space I work on, no matter the budget. Having grown up in a low-income household in a less-than-ideal neighborhood, I strongly believe that everyone deserves the comforting feeling of coming home to a beautifully designed environment. Just like the comfort I felt when I designed my first apartment. Everyone deserves that feeling, no matter the budget, geographic location, ethnicity, income, etc.

I am excited to exclusively share with Voyage one of my most recent projects, which I named “Project Zirconia.” This particular undertaking involved a captivating remodel of a client’s kitchen with a new backsplash, fresh paint, new hardware and adding décor to the surfaces.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Undoubtedly, this journey has been marked by numerous challenges, particularly on an emotional level. The process of relocating across the country, leaving behind loved ones, and embarking on a pursuit of my dreams was incredibly difficult. However, upon arriving in Los Angeles, I was met with the devastating news of my grandmother’s passing. Coping with the immense grief while being physically distant from my support system was an additional hardship to overcome. Additionally, I was fighting the feeling of imposter syndrome as a self-taught designer. Adjusting to life in Los Angeles meant familiarizing myself with the available resources and understanding the dynamics of the design world in the city. Working with design firms helped me navigate and determine what would be the best fit for my creativity. Simultaneously, I faced the challenge of self-funding my business while working full-time to sustain myself. Despite these hurdles, I remained resilient and committed to my path, determined to overcome each setback and continue pursuing my passion for design.

One aspect of my brand that fills me with immense pride is the fact that I built it from the ground up. Additionally, I take great pride in the relationships I’ve developed with my clients and their satisfaction with my work. Customer service is of utmost importance to me, and having started working at a young age, I learned the value of ensuring my clients are truly happy with the designs on each project I undertake.

We firmly believe that everyone deserves comfort and luxury, and we would be thrilled to embark on that transformative journey with you.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Heading into college, my initial aspiration was to become a Political Campaign Manager, which led me to pursue a major in Political Science. Subsequently, I worked as an accountant for five years. However, after working in the corporate world for a period of time, I came to the realization that this career path was not aligned with my true passions. Deep down, I had always enjoyed expressing my creativity, but I held reservations about turning it into a viable career. Nevertheless, following the acceptance of the design program from The Academy of Interior Design, I made the courageous decision to take a leap of faith and pursue my creative aspirations.
