Today we’d like to introduce you to Misael Lara. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Misael Lara (Lead Guitar) had been in out-of-punk/folk punk bands and wanted to try a new project. Tired of mediocrity and depression in his life he set out to start another band. Placing flyers at all nearby colleges in Orange County. He found drummer Tyler Fries (a complete godsend btw ); a few months later David Martinez, a singer found a flyer at his college in Santa Ana and the very talented vocalist made the mistake of coming to a tryout and now he’s been stuck with deth coast ever since. Marco Carretero is the current bassist which we have been acquainted with since recording our first LP “Peach Fuzz”.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As much as I would love to say it was smooth, it has been rough we all come from different backgrounds and musical styles it was difficult at first, but really feel that we have finally hit our stride with our upcoming release. So in total, the struggles have made us who we are…
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are mediocre at best, but if there is anything that might set us apart, is a passion to perform at the highest level, because we know what it means for people to take time out of their weekend, their paychecks their time is just as important as our ours so we dedicate ourselves to our craft to make every second count.
How do you define success?
Success comes in many different lights and it would be irresponsible to speak for everyone, but for me, it’s to prove to the next generation that following your dreams isn’t a fictional Pixar movie. Some define success as financial stability I define success as freedom.
