Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrew Carrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Carrera.

Hi Andrew, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 21-year-old artist. I was born a male and go by “she”. I am a professional dancer and I love to write lyrics & act. Grew up in south la until I moved to Palm Springs in middle school. I’ve been dancing for almost eight years. I began dancing in 9th grade and competed throughout high school. Started doing it professionally senior year! Filmed a lot of dancing content for fun and for training which led to me having the platform I have now on my social media. I’ve danced for artists like Selena Gomez, Megan the Stallion & bts & more. Have been recognized and reposted by artists like Cardi B, Saucy Santana, Major Lazor, Kali Uchis, & more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not it hasn’t and it still hasn’t. I have a long way. A lot of struggles were rejection, money, tiredness, and patience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I dance for the entertainment industry. I’m most proud of my concert performances at Sofi stadium with Bts. I was on the tonight show with Jimmy Fallon as a dancer for BTS. I was in a Selena Gomez March Madness dance commercial, performed at the Grammys with BTS in 2022. Was in music videos such as BTS, Becky G, P1 harmony & more. Concert shows at allegiant stadium in Las Vegas.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Network a lot! Try to get signed to an agency!! Take a lot of classes, we need it anyway. Stretch!!
