Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulina Carrillo.
Hi Paulina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Argentina and moved to the US 23 years ago. I’m a certified NASM personal trainer and I’ve always had a desire to start my own business. During the pandemic back in 2020 I’ve decided to give this new project a shot. I decided to start my own activewear brand. I’ve spent a total of about nine months learning the business, researching for manufacturers and trying on new fabrics and styles. After almost a year later, in February 2021 I launched my very first activewear collection. With a lot of doubts, since this business is too saturated, I always stayed positive and believed in my products and brand.
Now two and half years later, I’ve launched seven different collections, gained a total of 17.200 followers on Instagram! I’m staying true to myself and growing this community so that every women can have a chance to own that perfect pair of leggings and sports bra!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely not an easy start since activewear business it’s very saturated. Competing with big brands, it’s never easy. But I always remind myself that this is not a competition, it’s actually a motivation to keep growing!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a certified NASM personal trainer and I’m the owner and founder of BEACTYVE, an e-commerce activewear brand from women. Being a full-time mom of two and working three different jobs, I’ve managed to also open my own business. This is what I’m most proud of, showing and teaching my kids that anything is possible if you believe in yourself
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Patience is key! Before starting, so your research. Do not rush the process, take time to learn and educate yourself on what you’d wish to do. Enjoy the process, and never compare your Chapter 1 with anybody else’s Chapter 10!
