Meet Monica Monahan

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Monica Monahan. Monica was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Reanne Kelly.

Hi Monica, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Seattle from Phoenix in May 2018, where I had little to no issues with my skin. Shortly after moving to Seattle I noticed I was getting significantly more breakouts with the majority being the deep, red and painful cystic lesions. Initially, I thought it was just the stress of the move, the new job and a new city. Unfortunately, it continued to progress and I started to pick at my skin, thinking that it would make them go away, absolutely KNOWING that was not the case. I followed Reanne on IG prior to moving to Seattle, and went in to see her for a consultation. We created a plan for treatment, as well as a customized skin care regimen. We had to modify our plan a couple times but once we found the recipe, my acne cleared and we were able to start addressing the texture and hyperpigmentation. And the rest is history!

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist at SkinSpirit where I focus on anti-aging through the injection of neurotoxin, fillers, Sculptra and Kybella, as well as skincare treatments such as Ultherapy, BBL and Halo. Prior to my career in Aesthetics, I worked as an ICU RN at Mayo Clinic, a drug and alcohol detox RN, as well as a Clinical Education Specialist for Johnson & Johnson. My goal as a practitioner is to make patient’s look and feel like the best version of themselves with natural looking results and collaboration with our aesthetic team to address anti-aging from multiple aspects.

Reanne Kelly and Aesthete have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Reanne Kelly and Aesthete and your experience with them.
As mentioned previously, I began to suffer from cystic acne upon moving to Seattle. I followed Reanne on IG prior to moving to Seattle, and she was incredibly knowledgable and passionate about skincare and her craft. After our consultation, I felt I had found the right person to help me address my skin. As we continued in our skincare journey, Reanne ensured me to trust the process, even when there were times that I had lost hope. She stayed committed to me and the process, which proves the investment she has in her clients. She truly has helped me have the best skin possible and I am forever grateful in so many ways.

Working in Aesthetics, I have been able to share my experience and help others, which feels wonderful.

My advice for those struggling with their skin is to find a knowledgeable and trusted aesthetician and trust the process. It is so much easier said than done but it is worth it. It is a team effort and you must do your part as well! Find you a Reanne!
