Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Foojan Zeine.
Foojan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Iran and came to the US at age 12 on my own. Went to Arizona State University at age 15 and have raised myself in the US. As an immigrant who was alone, I had to learn so much on my own. I wished by age 30 to have my own business, be married and have my own home. Well, I created it all but I was not happy and fulfilled. I began taking courses in coaching and began going to therapy. I saw that making a difference in people’s life was my passion. I went back to school to earn my graduate studies in Clinical psychology and through the 27 years of working with diverse, multi-lingual and multi-cultural individuals, couples and families from different ethnic backgrounds I created a new psychology model. Awareness Integration model synthesizes many of the existing theories into a systematic and comprehensive structure to promote healing of the past, envisioning an intended future and be fully present, responsible and accountable in the present. This model is being researched in the realms of treatment and education globally. I now see clients in my 3 offices in Southern California, collaborate with universities on research, write books and articles and host a radio show and podcast on LA Talk Radio.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life has its gifts. I was molested from the age 3-8 by various men, my parents got divorced when I was 5, I came to the U.S. alone at age 12 and began working 3 jobs at age 17 to earn a living and go to school. It has been a journey filled with ups and downs, loving people who helped and people who tested my patience by undermining me. I had no support, I had to create support, be reliable and rely on people. I had to trust the goodness in people and try to enhance that in myself. The key was to get better for me every day, to learn from all that was brought into my life to make me a better person. I knew that Love was the only expression that I was committed to, and therefore, I kept shifting toward Love as a motivation for growth.

I have full private practice in 3 offices in Brentwood, Irvine, and Woodland Hills, California. I see clients from 16-70 years old. I offer my services as individual or couples therapy and coaching or in groups and workshops.
I have created a new psychological approach which brings depth into brief therapy – Awareness Integration Model. I work with my clients from a perspective of distinguishing thoughts, emotions, intentions, and behaviors to promote awareness, healing, responsibility, and accountability toward living a fulfilled life.
My book “Life Reset- The Awareness Integration Path to create the life you want” brings this model as a self-help exercises into the hands of millions.
I also am hosting a radio/podcast show “Inner Voice with Dr. Foojan” on Wednesdays 12-1 PM in LA Talk Radio interviewing prominent authors, theoreticians, scientists regarding Life.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am so excited to work with universities and centers to promote research and application of the Awareness Integration model into daycares/pre-schools, universities, clinics and finally as a self-help model into the hands of everyone.
