Today we’d like to introduce you to Cole Carson.
Cole, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in the small ski resort town of Bend, Oregon where I spent my free time snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing and just about every sport in between. My passion for healthy food and an active lifestyle is ultimately what brought me to Southern California. I saw an opportunity here in Orange County to push the healthy organic movement forward in an exciting way. Just because it’s good for you doesn’t mean it has to be boring or tastes awful. We have a slogan here ‘always organic, always delicious.’ Beyond that my goal was to have Thrive Juice Lab be a place where people can escape the stresses of everyday life and hopefully a place we can make a meaningful impact on their lives. It has been truly incredible seeing that happen and seeing customers respond to what we do here. Our customers really appreciate the genuine customer service, our hands-on approach to sourcing the best ingredients, making almost everything in-house, and good tunes of course! The excitement has continued to grow as new faces walk through our doors daily.
Has it been a smooth road?
As with most new businesses, specifically new restaurant concepts it was slow to start. Of course, I had that ‘oh no what have I done?’ moment about a month in with things like major equipment failure but you don’t really have much time to dwell on it. I kept my thoughts positive and focused on making Thrive Juice Lab the best I possibly could. The business began to take on a life of its own as we made fans one person at a time. It wasn’t until about a year and a half later that I really realized we were doing something special here. Hearing stories of how much our cleanses have changed people’s lives or how they focus on eating fresh organic food now has really made it all worthwhile.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Thrive Juice Lab story. Tell us more about the business.
Thrive Juice Lab is an all organic wellness café featuring cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies, bowls, specialty cleanses, soup and salad, coffee and tea. We like to call it a wellness cafe because it’s not your ordinary juice bar. We cold press our juice with our hydraulic press in the back fresh 7 days a week, we make our own soup and salad in house along with an array of items like our granola, sprouted almond milk, superfood snack items, and now Kombucha on tap. Customers often enjoy customizing their bowls, smoothies, and juices with our extensive list of superfoods and ‘make your own’ options. Every customer who walks through the door is greeted with a smile in a positive energetic environment and served delicious high-quality organic food in a timely fashion.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The organic food industry has more than doubled in the last decade and I believe there is no end in sight. As the saying goes people are sick and tired of being sick and tired. I believe our best defense against disease is preventative care. The general public is beginning to realize this as they shift toward healthier organic food options. Not only do people want to look better, they want to feel better. Every day new customers walk through our doors asking us about organic food and are ready for big change in their lives. Our custom organic cleanses give people a glimpse of what they are meant to feel like all the time with simple changes in the foods they consume.
