Hidden Gems: Meet Anna Vardanyan of VANNA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Vardanyan.

Hi Anna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Cyprus, raised in Armenia, and moved to Los Angeles in 2017. Despite earning a degree in finance, my passion for fashion and art persisted throughout my childhood and adolescence. I filled all my school notebooks and piano sheets with sketches. Although I was deeply interested in fashion, I never truly believed I could pursue it as a career. However, after working in several corporate 9–5 jobs, I realized that I could never thrive in that kind of environment. I knew I needed to channel my creativity into something that would bring me fulfillment.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was definitely not a smooth road. In fact, it took me an entire year to be ready to launch. I wanted to make sure that everything was perfect and that the brand truly represented my vision. After finally launching, I quickly realized that the challenges had only just begun.

One of the biggest struggles I faced was dealing with the ups and downs of sales. As someone who had no prior experience in running a business, it was difficult to navigate the unpredictability of the market. However, I was fortunate enough to have a business partner and adviser along the way who provided me with invaluable guidance and support.

Another challenge I faced was finding the right balance between spending and maintaining the integrity of the brand. It was important to me to establish a brand image that customers could trust and relate to, but at the same time, I had to be mindful of the costs associated with marketing and advertising.

Overall, launching my brand was a daunting but rewarding experience. It required a lot of hard work, dedication, and resilience. I learned so much along the way and am grateful for the lessons that have helped me to grow both personally and professionally.

Success is a multifaceted concept that transcends financial stability and recognition. For me, it’s about achieving contentment and finding a sense of fulfillment both personally and professionally. Success involves personal growth and continuous development.

At its core, success is not just about winning, nor is it about being the best. Instead, it’s about being the best version of oneself. It is about staying true to one’s values and principles while pursuing a vision that brings meaning and purpose to life. Success is about being able to look back and feel a sense of fulfillment and achievement, knowing that one has accomplished their goals while staying true to their core beliefs.
