Meet Amie Jorgensen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amie Jorgensen.

Hi Amie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always wanted to do hair as long as I can remember. I fell in love with hair as a teenager being a hair model for my aunt’s bridal hair business.

While in cosmetology school, I found Giuseppe Franco Salon in Beverly Hills and from there was hired to start my internship. After 16 years, I’ve continued to grow at Giuseppe Franco, working as a master stylist. From there, I was able to grow my business in Orange County, near my hometown Lakewood, where I’m taking Southern CA by storm.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I worked so hard to establish myself get to where I am today. At one point, I was working at DryBar, Glam App and Glamsquad to build my clientele at Giuseppe Franco.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most proud of never giving up on my dreams. Now my reality has surpassed my dreams. I’ve had the pleasure and opportunity to do hair for endless celebrities and big names.

I’m best known for blondes and hand-painted balayage. I specialize in creating the perfect sunkissed hair that will continue to look better lived in.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
In 2020 the salon was only open five months of the year. It helped me take a step back and made me reinvent myself in my career. Given the extra time with covid, I was able to get certified with Bellami extensions and expand my business.
