Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Harrer and Nicole Musselman-Dayan.
Brittany and Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After working as a Personal and Executive Assistant for years, we saw the need for a new, modern approach to the staffing industry as a whole. Traditional staffing and placement agencies weren’t doing us any favors when we were job seekers, so we took matters into our own hands. Joining forces, we worked together to create our agency, and then The Pocketbook Agency was born! Our company was started with a vision for a modern take on traditional agencies, a vision to create an agency bound by strong relationships, realistic expectations and a truly incredible network of candidates in various industries. We took our vision and ran with it.
While whom we work with is very confidential, we are proud to have become the go-to agency for everyone from A-list actors, musicians, founders, CEOs, families, and more in various industries across the U.S. We have been lucky to work with some of the biggest names in entertainment, tech, nonprofits, family office, and the list goes on to span across various industries. As a women founded and run company, we continue to work hard each day to do exactly what we set out to do – create a new type of agency and to revolutionize the industry as a whole. We love what we do and that passion is reflected through our company’s recent growth and continued success.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Let’s face it – all businesses are forced to overcome challenges, especially in the beginning stages. Those challenges, if tackled successfully, often create valuable lessons that lead to growth and even more success down the road. As a women founded and run company, we faced many challenges along the way that are unique. Historically, men have held the leadership role in the business world. So, as women, there’s naturally more of a feeling of the need to prove yourself in business. Even though we live in 2017 and women’s rights are more respected than they have been historically, the challenge is still there.

We founded and run a modern staffing agency for both corporate and domestic placements in various industries. On the domestic side, we staff everything from Personal Assistants, Estate Managers, Nannies, Housekeepers, Chefs and more. Through our corporate placements, we provide exceptional Executive Assistants, Office Managers, Administrative Assistants, and more.
We are known for our exceptional, long term placements and our outstanding network of candidates in various industries. We started out specializing in the entertainment industry, and more recently we have successfully grown into many other industries as well. For us, relationships are everything, that how we built our reputation in the industry. We stand behind every candidate we represent and have a quality over quantity approach to everything we do. Every client’s search is unique, and we make sure we take the time to build relationships with our clients to make sure we understand exactly what they need – everything from personality, skill set and more. We have excelled in creating and maintaining excellent relationships to be able to provide both our candidates and clients alike exactly what they are looking for. What were you like growing up?
Growing up, we were very different. Nicole grew up in Virginia and Brittany grew up in Los Angeles. We were lucky enough to meet each other through a past employer and the rest is history! Even now, as founders we are both very different in terms of personality and that is what creates such a successful balance in our company. We each have strengths that complement each other and we make a great team.
