Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Besimanto.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been interested in people and their stories. This passion has led me to pursue the healing art of therapy. My belief in people and their capability for living a life of full of meaning and purpose has provided me with the privilege to witness growth and healing in front of my eyes repeatedly. In 2015, I made the decision to open my office in order to place full focus on my individual clients and give full attention to their self-growth, and success towards their goals. Since then, my office and clientele have grown. I am fortunate to have a career that I enjoy and feel rewarded by every day.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, but is any road ever smooth in life? From the moment I decided to become a Psychotherapist, I knew I wanted to have my own private office and clientele. I was fortunate to have great mentors along the way who encouraged and supported my confidence in getting there. However, getting there took a lot of energy, worry, hard work, and at times sleepless nights. I struggled with learning how to navigate the marketing/business portion of my business, which they don’t teach you in school. It took a lot of trial and error, research, experience, failure, practice, and most of all patience.

My office serves to help people enhance their lives through fulfilling relationships, self-discovery, and acceptance of past wounds. My approach is warm, compassionate and directive. Clients have told me I am different from other therapists in that I don’t just listen well but I also respond, interact and provide feedback and tools, which help them cope with difficult feelings and make healthier decisions on their own. I focus on connecting with my clients; creating a supportive and close therapeutic relationship that gives them the confidence they need to make the changes they want.
One of the areas I specialize in includes improving relationships; whether they consist of family, friends, or romantic relationships. Creating and fostering healthy relationships is a vital element of life and we strive to nurture them into fruition. Together we ride the waves of life with more courage, resilience, and insight while we find purpose and meaning throughout the journey.
