Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Flash The Party General. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Flash aka The Party General, the 4-Star DJ/MC, is based out of the entertainment capital, Los Angeles, California. The multi-talented disc jockey enjoys being the party peoples’ DJ!!!
Being a Belizean, via New York City and Los Angeles, Flash has been able to grasp his calling and take the family talent baton and find his niche to reach both an American and Caribbean/International audience. Starting out EmCeeing for both his best friend, DJ Cali, and cousin, DJ Fadda Frank of Champion Sound, being in entertainment has been there from Day 1. In college, from dancing in music videos, Soul Train a few times and a couple of movies, Flash has always been where the action is. Now, as The Party General, “the party people’s DJ”, the action elevates each time he is called to DJ or MC any event.
As with every venture, it began by DJing for his close friend. Marketing via social media daily and just putting himself out to the masses. By all means; surfing the internet for gigs and events, sending e-mails and DMs (Direct Messages) and asking people to spread the word of his availability.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey is never smooth!! The level of your success is always based upon the level of your hunger and appetite. How bad do you want to be a success? How bad do you want to reach and surpass your goals?
You have to develop “thick skin” because of the lack of support from whom you think you would garner their support. Also, not being considered for events you feel you would be an asset. Not being financially compensated the way you feel you should and lastly being patient for the success.

What sets me apart is my background. Being Caribbean American, this allows me to be able to play for a diverse audience. Being from New York and Los Angeles, this also adds to my adaptability. Being in a fraternity and attending college, this is also another audience I’m able to attract. So, I’m proud of my diversity and ability to play for various genres.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, planning on maximizing all that 2023 has coming my way. Bigger platforms, reaching more people, pumping out quality mixes and just making people have a memorable good time each time I’m rocking the mic & DJ table.
