Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Rahim.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have traveled a long way from home to get to where I am today! I grew up in Toronto, Canada and my entire life I dreamed of moving to Los Angeles and here I am today! I am someone who is incredibly determined and I will always follow through in reaching my goals. A big reason I decided to move to LA is that I felt like a lot of creatives reside in LA and there was more opportunity to experience a creative lifestyle. I will always love Toronto because it’s my home, but it was definitely time for a change and I am happy I made the change.
Currently, I am the social media and marketing lead at Zentap. I am a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications and a Minor in Marketing. Once completing my degree, I opted for more schooling at UCLA Extension to complete a certification in Marketing with a Concentration in Digital Marketing.
During my time at UCLA, I met Betty Gabbaie who is an instructor at the institution, as well as the CEO of Zentap. This led to an internship for Zentap through UCLA and later evolved into my position today! I also work as an account manager for Zentap, as she enjoys assisting clients to ensure they are happy with their services and reach all their marketing goals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only obstacle I have had in my journey was Covid of course. Moving to a completely new country during a pandemic is surprisingly very hard. Furthermore, I was scared that I wouldn’t make friends since I moved by myself. Thankfully, my extroverted self was able to make really great friends and my co-workers are amazing! I am very thankful for this journey I am on and hope to meet many more lovely people!
We’ve been impressed with Zentap, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Currently, I am the social media and marketing lead at Zentap. Zentap is a marketing service for real estate agents. At Zentap, I create all the graphics and videos for clients and the company’s social media accounts. I really enjoy doing this because it allows me to bring my creativity to my workplace!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
That I really am filled with determination. It makes me so happy to hear my parents tell me how proud they are of me and that they can’t believe I did all of this on my own because I just decided to pick up and move to LA without knowing anyone over here.
