Meet Cristina Ward of HiDef Brewing Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Ward.

Hi Cristina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I opened a Brewery in October 2020….yes…..in the middle of the pandemic. I’m extremely proud of the space, the beer, the atmosphere. The fact that HiDef is able to bring people together in the middle of Downtown and create a HiDef community has been definitively rewarding. My team has been nothing but amazing, and I couldn’t have done it without them!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening a Brewery during the Pandemic is a challenge in itself! From trying to figure out how to change the original business model, to a Pandemic model. Getting up every day in the morning knowing that people couldn’t come into our beautiful, amazing and fun space was devastating. But little by little we keep overcoming every obstacle and my final goal to make HiDef a landmark in Downtown Los Angeles. Whether you find yourself in DTLA for a game, a concert, or just a fun day….stop by and have some of our glorious beers!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I do a little bit of everything at HiDef: Marketing, Community Relations, Deliver beer, Administrative, and Scheduling. I don’t Brew, that is the one thing I don’t do, but other than that…..you name it, I do it!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love Latin American Authors and pretty much, that’s my daily reading. Also, I make sure I read the news every day from at least three different sources to keep up with the world!
