Check Out Carli Meacham’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carli Meacham.

Hi Carli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Carli Meacham and I am a 22 year old model, actor, and creative. I’ve always lived in Los Angeles and been interested in the entertainment industry. I always did dancing, background acting and theatre growing up so I was familiar with the industry. I’ve always been curious about modeling and finally decided to take action and just apply myself to model in the beginning of 2022. I started out with collaborating with photographers and started getting booked in a variety of jobs like e-commerce, fashion brands, music videos, and commercials.

I was excited when I started booking more model talent and lead jobs while incorporating more acting. Being leads for music videos portraying a storyline and product productions casted by self-tapes has also increased my interest in acting. As a freelance model, I put a lot of time and energy in submitting myself to castings, researching and learning about my industry, and networking to get to where I am today. I also started doing more brand deals at the end of 2022 where I researched more business aspects of brand deals. I’ve learned a lot through my journey and am excited to grow more and support others!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a freelancer, it’s not a smooth road as work and the money flow isn’t always consistent. One week I can have multiple bookings but the next week have none. As a freelance model, actor, and creator, I am solely responsible to submitting myself to castings and it can be difficult to stay on top of castings and can be very competitive. There is definitely a learning curve in figuring out how to move through the industry as well as always having that confidence to put myself out there and network with people. With content creation, it can be difficult to create engaging content, pitch to brands, create a supportive community, and establish myself as a personal brand

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I want to represent diversity and body inclusivity as a petite model in the modeling industry. I am ethnically ambiguous being I am mixed ethnicity of Japanese, Black, and White. I think it’s really important to represent range of all ethnicities and body types. I am an aspiring actress venturing into product productions and acting films. I am really proud of my recent product advertisements for UNO, Chevy, and Robo x Kala (laptop) that I landed by submitting self-tapes. I am aspiring to do more commercial productions so I am really proud of myself for landing these jobs showing off my range of expressions and acting skills. I consider myself an ambivert as I enjoy being around people and sharing ideas but I also enjoy my alone time. In my free time, I enjoy being outside, traveling, dancing, and learning how to better myself! I value learning about self development, taking care of my body, and my spiritual journey.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
“The biggest risk is not taking any risk.” -Mark Zuckerberg

In order to grow, you must take risks. Fear is constantly holding people back from doing great things while most successful people wouldn’t be where they are today without taking risks. Taking that leap of faith is crucial in order to improve and advance in life or you may remain stagnant. I aim to take risk because in the end, it will still be a learning lesson.
