Daily Inspiration: Meet Evan Camacho

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Camacho.

Hi Evan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I came to Los Angeles just over 7 years ago (first year never counts by the way) and have gone through a number of ups, downs, and sideways during my time here. I’ve had over a half a dozen day jobs while pursuing my career as an actor and writer.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has never been smooth. Fun but difficult. Financially I certainly was not in the top 1% but at one point I was 2 months behind on rent but due to some luck and a very understanding landlord I pulled through. As an artist, the hardest days are when you feel uninspired and cynicism leaks into your heart. There are times when I wanted to quit, but due to support from friends and therapy I have a new drive.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an actor, I have played a variety of roles from full-fledged antagonists to true loves. Much of my passion for acting comes from wanting to explore as many interests as possible. Lawyers, doctors, cops, criminals, upper class, lower class, they all can be played. What sets me apart is that when I commit, there is no Evan Camacho – only the character with whatever quirks they may have.

As I writer I specialize in historical fiction (along with my writing partner) and in fantasy. My world-building is very important because it allows me to exercise my true creativity. My specialty is taking ideas that I would like to see and bringing them to life. I am not too different from the average viewer so I ask honestly – what do I enjoy watching?

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was my second trip to Hawaii. I was only about 4 or 5 years old and almost my entire family went. We all shared a sort of bed and breakfast right on the beach. The whole trip was essentially a haze of beach days, pool nights, and family bonding.
