Rising Stars: Meet Cache Melvin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cache Melvin.

Hi Cache, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. I started out as a gymnast and learned very quickly that I loved to dance! I graduated from the Baltimore School of the Arts where I studied in dance. While in school my mom took me to dance conventions in multiple cities where I trained every weekend at The Pulse on tour and Monsters of hip hop, which is what got me to where I am today!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Iv had the best support system throughout my dance career and acting journey! I will say making plans as simple as a movie night has never been the easiest in my profession being things happen so quickly and abruptly, but I wouldn’t change what I do for the world!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At a late age to start dancing I knew that I had to work extra hard so I decided to move to LA at age 18. Since then I have done music videos and performed on stage with various artists which include Janet Jackson, Demi Lovato, Bruno Mars, Jlo, Tinashe, TLC, Cardi B, Becky G, Justin Bieber, Dj Khaled, and Neyo to name a few. Continuing to work hard, I added television and film to my credits. These include ABC comedy’s Uncle Buck, New Edition Story, Disney’s Best Friends Whenever, and my most recent film The Hip Hop Nutcracker where I was the lead. I’ve done commercials for Doritos, Starbucks, Pepsi, Adidas spec, Hasbro’s – Britney Spears Twister Dance Rave and more. I commit to my twice daily ritual of reading my two favorite quotes; “Chase the Dream NOT the Competition” and “I am motivated by the fear of being average.”
