Exploring Life & Business with Sunil Bhaskaran of Global Communities

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunil Bhaskaran.

Sunil, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
1. Started a business in 1991. Was struggling to get clients.

2. Met my mentor who shared secrets on how to engage people meaningfully. He thought me the value of intriguing people and designing a business that followed clearly identifying what I wanted.

3. He also taught me the value of integrity and the zen distinction of playing full out – 100 percent – without burning yourself out.

4. He took me on as a business partner and we sold our company at a huge profit and I took a year and a half off to travel the world and experience the rewards of being a true entrepreneur.

5. When I returned, I committed to teaching people who wanted to learn – how to run a business and design a lifestyle that matched that.

6. I had a full clientele within a week and never looked back since.

7. I started building a global business community of entrepreneurs in 2008 and now have 200,000+ business owners in many meetup groups around the world. I do online events for educational and networking events that draw up to 100 or more attendees at a time.

8. In the meantime, I wrote two books on Amazon and in the process of writing and publishing two more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been smooth and rocky like most of my life. I started out fumbling in many ways and my mentor helped to set me on a more focused path. I am glad I had a mentor or a guide at every point of my career as an entrepreneur.

Struggles:
1. Whenever a recession hit. Although I was prepared, it was tough to have to innovate and pivot. But the old saying “The Truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off” prevailed at each turn. I did not like dealing with the truth in the need to change the course of my business, but I learned to deal with it. This is the real test of entrepreneurship – when you learn to celebrate, embrace and learn from both your successes and your breakdowns.

2. Facing criticism of my innovative approaches. There were naysayers. I learned not to blame them but to rise above i.e., create a more powerful context. I knew I had to build my inner strength – the ability to stay present without ignoring the feelings that came up and be able to distinguish between opinions to banish from my mindset and data or information that could lead to a better future.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
This is the latest iteration of my business. It represents the vision to create at least 100 million joyful and successful entrepreneurs globally by 2050. There are measures for this level of joy and success. I specialize in training entrepreneurs in 1. designing your business and marketing from first principles (i.e. what is needed and desired), in how to up their value and their pricing and to do it in a way that they feel good and right about, and in almost all facets of running a service-based small business.

What sets me apart?
Experience. This experience gives me the ability to use my intuition and keen listening to put a picture of your situation clearly in my head and also a picture of how your future (business and life) could look like. Then I use my experience in design (I have a background as a design engineer) to put together the structures, systems and accountabilities in a concise manner to get you to fulfill the future you want. This kind of mental acuity can only come from decades of experience in running businesses and mentoring successfully.

The primary offer I make is to woman entrepreneurs (who are naturally a big part of my vision.) This service I provide enables them to charge much more money for what they do whilst having between 15 to 20 hours more of free time per week. It starts with a conversation and I offer this “unforgettable conversation” at www.MeetupChat.com.
